Sometimes, it’s a clever reconfiguration or a lick of fresh paint. Sometimes, it’s a controversial conversion or dramatic extension. At Millbridge Court, it’s a meticulous architectural and interior reworking—one that beautifully honours the venue’s character while subtly redefining the guest experience.
Designed in collaboration with London-based studio Red Deer—known for their work on LIMEKILN, St. John, Lina Stores, and The Gallivant—this 2026 refresh is a thoughtful evolution. It elevates the offering while preserving everything couples (and we) already adore: the warm, home-from-home atmosphere, timeless interiors, and that relaxed yet refined approach to hosting.
The renders offer a first glimpse into the transformation—when can I move in?
Let’s take a look around…
Set in the picture-perfect village of Frensham on the Surrey-Hampshire border, Millbridge Court has long offered that clever (but tricky to get right) mix of historic charm and clean, contemporary design. Their upcoming revamp deepens this identity with interiors that nod to Surrey’s heritage—spot the woad blue tones and artisanal textiles—while enhancing flow, comfort, and cohesion. It still feels like home but with a more layered, grown-up sensibility. Cosy, yes—but now with serious design credentials.
The reimagined lounge strikes a careful balance between comfort and achingly cool. Tactile textures, soft clay pinks, heritage blues, and curated antiques lend the space a timeless appeal, while the repositioned bar ensures functionality. There’s more room for mingling, more seating, and an elevated drinks experience for guests. It’s the perfect space for pre-dinner negronis or late fireside chats (and everything else in between)—with just the right amount of London-meets-country-house sophistication.
Part farmhouse kitchen, part relaxed dining space, the Breakfast Room is modern rural charm personified. Double-height ceilings, cobbled stone floors and bespoke sage-green joinery give it serious design clout, while the central table and open layout make it ideal for sociable moments. From welcome dinners to slow, post-wedding breakfasts, it’s now better connected to the front rooms and designed to host effortlessly—without ever losing its warm, welcoming, informal spirit.
Always a popular prep space, The Loft has been reworked with the wedding morning firmly in mind. Vaulted ceilings and soft, tonal shades keep things calm and light-filled, while the addition of professional-grade makeup stations and a hair wash area make it genuinely functional. The fringed stools, fireplace and textural details add just the right amount of personality. Of course, it needs to be practical, but it also needs to be the kind of space you’ll want to linger in.
These signature venue spaces have been subtly elevated to feel more elegant, more atmospheric, and more guest-ready than ever (we weren’t sure that was possible, to be honest!). With enhanced ceiling detailing, rich oak panelling, and refined lighting throughout, there’s a softness to the new aesthetic that complements the venue’s natural light beautifully. Huge windows, statement floors and seamless air con make these spaces work hard behind the scenes while still delivering on those “wow-factor” wedding day moments.
If you love a bit of drama (the good kind), you’ll LOVE the new hidden cocktail bar. Designed as a surprise reveal for the evening, it brings something new and exciting to the day’s celebrations—transitioning seamlessly from dinner to dancing. Moody tones, checkerboard flooring and glowy lighting create a decadent, almost secret-club atmosphere. It’s super playful, a bit unexpected, and exactly the kind of twist that makes any event feel even more memorable.
Tucked away in the garden, The Hideaway has always been Millbridge’s secret romantic retreat—but now, it’s had a luxurious upgrade. A fabric-wrapped bath in Rivers Fabric by Living Quarters takes centre stage, while the surrounding palette and soft furnishings make it feel cocoon-like and secluded. Add in a log burner, leafy garden views, and a four-poster bed, and you’ve got the perfect post-party escape—or pre-wedding hideout… or both!
Each of the eight bedrooms has been refreshed to feel more boutique stay than a country B&B, with hotel-standard finishes and a gentle nod to vintage styling. From checked fireplaces to scalloped lampshades and retro radios to luxe linens, they feel both fun and meticulously polished. The colour palette is calming, the bathrooms quietly indulgent, and the vibe utterly inviting. We love.
Based on a weekday wedding in February.
