First up we have a brooding scheme with delicious figs, berries and a gorgeous flower crown all inspired by the Pantone colour of the year – Marsala. Whilst the next serving is a natural and organic themed shoot with succulent place settings and a thread of understated elegance.
So buckle up, Claire {owner of Upton Barn & Walled Garden} is going to show you around, assisted by these swoon-worthy images by Maxi Photography…
Claire:
We decided to host a launch evening for Upton Barn and on the same day we also chose to do a styled shoot for the venue! We wanted to involve quality suppliers that we had already worked with for our wedding or that had been highly recommended by these suppliers and what a great team of people they were!
We knew we were going to be doing two styled shoots on the day. So I wanted to achieve two completely different colour palettes for each shoot to show off the versatility of Upton Barn & Walled Garden.
One evening I was preparing a fig starter for a meal for our friends and when I cut the fig open I absolutely loved the colours inside! So I decided to use Figs, blackberries and blueberries to work with a Marsala colour palette (the 2015 Pantone Colour of the Year!) This rich colour teamed with rustic dark wood and accents of gold worked really well and added a real depth and warmth to the Cider barn. Enhanced by the soft lighting it gave the styled shoot a rustic, yet contemporary feel!
The idea for the style of our second shoot came from Upton and our wedding. Our wedding was the reason we chose to create Upton Barn & Walled Garden. The style of our wedding day was heavily influenced by the natural beauty of Upton and it’s surroundings, this also influenced the design of the venue, so when creating this styled shoot, I really wanted to capture the natural beauty and romantic ambience of Upton by creating a look that was simple and light with an understated elegance.
All of the people involved have the most amazing qualities; hardworking, inspirational, generous and passionate about everything they do! Every single person worked extremely hard and gave up their time voluntarily to make our event a huge success and If I have learnt one thing about the wedding industry, it is like one big family! Sounds corny I know, but it is so true!
