Rock ‘n’ Roll Meets Disco at Elmore Court

Written by Caitlin Hoare
What do you get when you mix rock ‘n’ roll, disco, exquisite bridal fashion, bold blooms and super cool wedding industry talent? Pure magic, that’s what!

I’m a sucker for a disco ball, colourful confetti (eco only, no plastic!), and a couple who aren’t afraid to channel their own individual style, and this editorial at Directory fave, Elmore Court, has it all… in spades! Even if your wedding vibe isn’t 100% edgy rock ‘n’ roll, I can guarantee there will be something (or MANY things) that you’ll find yourself swooning over as you scroll through the following gallery. Whether it’s the stunning Rime Arodaky gowns, the statement magenta florals or the luxe but laid-back atmosphere that Elmore is famous for, it’s all simply divine.

Notes from the Florist

Isabelle Says…

The magnificent Elmore Court was the perfect venue for this shoot; known as ‘The Party House’ to the Guise family it oozes fun and character. The celebrant-led ceremony took place in The Hall framed by a deconstructed arch and marble angels, with the winter sun beaming through the huge stained-glass window. The Gillyflower, a purpose-built party space made from mud played host to the divine tablescape and show-stopping cake. The party vibes were ramped up a notch with more disco balls, textured chargers, waterfall florals, and fabric banner hung above the central table.

Our theme was rock ‘n’ roll meets disco. We wanted to create something unique for the ‘anti-bride’ while keeping things very much luxe. The style and colour palette were both designed around the florals which took centre stage. The Pantone colour of the year Viva Magenta was used as the base colour, complemented with reds and neutrals, and doesn’t it look epic?!

We love seeing couples showcase their personality in their wedding design; gone are the days where they felt they had to conform to age old traditions. This shoot embraces individuality and brings the party vibe that so many modern couples seek. The ceremony was romantic, yet edgy and hints of disco balls at the venue entrance with a ‘Let’s Party’ sign gave a sneak peek into what was planned later in the day.

Fashion was a huge element in capturing the vision behind the shoot. We selected French designer Rime Arodaky from The Mews Bridal as we fell in love with her relaxed fashion forward designs. We wanted our bride to feel effortlessly beautiful and sexy while being comfortable. The hair and makeup complimented the vibe perfectly with a simplistic approach using beautifully luxurious products. The artists changed it up for the ‘evening’ with hair down and a red lip: party time!

Isabelle (Isabloom Floral Design) and Rosie (Raw Bridal Makeup) selected some of their favourite South West wedding suppliers, who they knew could create this vision and bought them all together in the most beautiful venue of Elmore Court, a place where they both love to work with their couples. Months and months of planning came together on a beautiful winter’s day and some rock ‘n’ roll magic happened sprinkled in disco balls!

Isabloom Floral Design did the flowers for the shoot and she chose an absolutely stunning collection of statement flowers. Everything that they do is seasonal to align with their environmental focus. Big bouncy blooms bursting with texture was definitely the aim of the game. Think roses, tulips, carnations, ranunculus, chrysanthemums, gerbera with some dried spears chucked in for that rock and roll edge. We loved how some of the old classics were used with such a modern twist. Very clever styling. It was also great how the flowers were repurposed throughout the day and the different locations to really get the most out of them. Something that Isabloom focuses on with their wedding designs.

Whether couples choose to create an absolutely epic day to remember or whether they want to take bits from the shoot and incorporate in to their day, we want to inspire couples to go for it! Life is too short to have a dull wedding and let’s be honest we have all seen enough ivory and blush to last us a lifetime. The modern wedding is all about colour and personality.
