Tasmin & Becky’s Garthmyl Hall Wedding

Written by Caitlin Hoare
Who said summer house weddings were strictly for summer? If you hadn’t considered November as a month to get married, take today’s feature as a sign to think again!

Tasmin and Becky’s wedding at Garthmyl Hall is autumnal, joyful, luxurious (but laid-back) and a true celebration of the season. We’ve waxed lyrical about Pheasant Botanica before but what she can create with armfuls of foliage, chicken wire, moss and time is pure magic. I love that flowers were a clearly a big focus for this couple, and the palette, texture and floral abundance is what gives this day true WOW-factor.

We’re hearing from the venue today, so let’s handover to Heather to walk us through the day…

Notes from the Venue

Heather says…

Tasmin and Becky’s intimate November wedding was boho in style but with a sprinkling of decadence. Our bride Tasmin wore a long lace gown with a train and bell sleeves. Her long hair was styled half up, half down with a long loose plait and fresh flowers woven through, finishing off her look with black Doc Marten boots and Pride socks. Becky wore a grey check suit with a dark paisley style tie and a buttonhole following the flower theme. The bridesmaids who were a range of ages wore burnt orange and dark red floor length velvet dresses – perfect for the time of year and their overall wedding vibe.

They truly embraced the time of year when it came to their theme. Everything was autumn-appropriate and the colour scheme of burnt orange/rust with pops of deep, dramatic red was absolutely stunning. We set the tables up in the Ballroom for them in a U-shape which was perfect for their size of wedding and created a beautiful, cosy ambience for the wedding breakfast and evening reception. The rustic trestles were decorated with a burnt orange runner, matching napkins, brass candle holders and gold cutlery. They chose woven straw placemats, gold rimmed glasses and stationery finished off with a gold teardrop paperclip.

Tasmin and Becky chose Pheasant Botanica as their floral designer. Donna is one of our top recommended florists and certainly knows to create an impact at Garthmyl Hall. The flowers of the day were powder pink and beige roses, lots of foraged dried bracken and thistles, red roses and red and orange ranunculus to name a few! They were all brought together in a beautiful rambling backdrop for the ceremony, which was then moved in parts to the mantlepieces in the Ballroom. To add to the atmosphere, Donna added lots of pillar candles in glass holders which were lit for the ceremony and created a really magical atmosphere for such a special occasion. In the Ballroom, she added lots of bud vases to the tables which were complemented by brass candlesticks and pale orange and blush pink candles. The bouquets followed the same wild, decadent theme and were bound with crimson velvet ribbon.

Tallulah & Co is one of our recommended caterers who is an expert at designing breathtaking menus for our couples that both look and taste delicious – Tamsin and Becky’s autumnal wedding was no exception! Their wedding cake by Red Rose Cake Co was a three-tiered wonder, iced in cream icing and decorated with gold foil, dried flowers and rabbit tails.

The photographer on the day was Nesta Lloyd Photography. Having shot at Garthmyl a few times before, we knew Nesta’s style, which is inspired by nature and the outdoors, would be the perfect match for our couple and this beautiful but underrated time of year. As you can see, the images speak for themselves. It was a truly beautiful, memorable day for all!
