Woodland Disco

Longton Wood is a woodland venue with towering trees and lots of vibrant greenery. This space has a marquee clearing, glamping glade, and ceremony blessing area, all set amongst the beautiful woodland. The venue offers three-day hire, so it is the perfect place for a party—meaning you can party until you drop! Our shoot aimed to showcase how the different areas can be used throughout the hire period.

The blank canvas format means all suppliers can be picked to suit, so the white sailcloth marquee was the perfect backdrop for our colour scheme. We opted for a monochrome theme with silver disco accents, bringing a touch of fun and sophistication to the woodland setting. The idea was to show a luxe feel instead of the standard rustic or festival vibe that tends to go hand in hand with woodland or outdoor venues.

Together, The Little Wedding Warehouse, Audio Light Design and Styled to Remember brought the woodland disco theme to life. Disco balls glittered under the trees while the beautiful black bows from Juniper & Me added a touch of elegance.

Fabulous makeup artist Claire Burchell created a natural look for the bride, which was perfect for the relaxed woodland scene, whilst Bridal Boutique of Jules made the most fantastic bow to go with the long dress look for the daytime ceremony. For the evening, our bride changed into a short bow-backed dress with pearl shawl and black chunky sandals. Finally, the wrap up the festivities, a sparkly cowboy hat and sunglasses accessorised the disco look.

Styled to Remember did the floral displays and bouquets, working with our chic white and black palette. The tables featured simple bud vases, while meadow florals adorned the aisle runner, the cake table and the food areas.  For a playful twist, the bouquets incorporated a tambourine as the base for flowers, perfect for the party and the short dress look, adding fun to tradition. The Icelandic poppy lent itself well to the colour scheme and was a star of the bridal bouquets.

The shoot beautifully illustrates how to incorporate current trends into your chosen venue, demonstrating that your wedding style doesn’t have to be dictated by the venue. The overall aim is to have your wedding exactly your way—you want a woodland disco? No problem!
