Spring Romance at Brickhouse Vineyard

Set among rolling Devon hills and flourishing vines, Brickhouse Vineyard is a family-run venue with a lovely sense of seclusion. Recently named Best Barn Wedding Venue in the South West at The Wedding Industry Awards 2026, it combines a boutique vineyard with beautifully restored historic buildings.

Across 20 acres of vineyards, woodland and organic gardens, couples can make the most of panoramic views, wildflower meadows, the thatched Round House and a barn made for celebrating.

This shoot began with an exciting new addition to Brickhouse: the Lotus Emeya. Available exclusively to couples marrying at the venue, the chauffeur-driven electric grand tourer makes quite an entrance. Its sleek lines looked striking against the Devon countryside and offered a fresh idea for portraits among the vines.

To bring the shoot together, we invited stylist Nikki Sheriff of Knots & Kisses to take the lead. Drawing on spring’s colours and textures, Nikki paired softer, romantic details with the venue’s historic buildings and the car’s contemporary feel.

Pinks, peaches and greens set the tone, with draped muslin, generous flowers and touches of fruit that felt right at home in the vineyard setting. The details were playful without losing their elegance: scalloped green crockery, pretty stationery and a dessert display piled with meringues and cake.

Lara Belle Bridal provided the bridal looks, moving from a full ball gown for the ceremony to a short dress for the reception. The groom wore a tux, while hair accessories and earrings made especially for the shoot by Claire Austin England finished the looks.

Muslin brought a lightness to the spaces, from a bespoke monogrammed panel behind the ceremony to fabric draped behind the top table and from the plinths. Brickhouse’s rustic wooden tables were left on show, dressed with crockery, cutlery, glassware and whimsical stationery.

Gemma of Poppys Flower Studios created loose, cascading flowers with a distinctly spring feel. Asymmetric bowls framed the ceremony, while anthuriums added a more unexpected note. Fruit was woven into the table styling for a sense of abundance.

If you’re planning your flowers, it can be worth concentrating your budget on one or two moments that matter most to you. For this shoot, the ceremony and top table had the statement arrangements. The other tables were kept simpler, with drapery adding plenty of impact to the dining space.
