Emma & Rory: A Summer Wedding at Boyne Hill House

Emma & Rory: A Summer Wedding at Boyne Hill House

When your wedding venue comes with a blush-pink Georgian manor house, the colour palette almost writes itself.

Emma and Rory leaned into Boyne Hill House’s prettiest details with soft summer florals, pale pink bridesmaids’ dresses and an outdoor celebration framed by all that greenery. The ceremony took place in the aptly named Secret Garden before everyone spilled back towards the house for drinks on the lawn. Luckily for us, Big Beard Photography was there to capture it all, and this rather lovely Irish estate, just 35 minutes from Dublin, is taking us through the details below…

Looking back, Emma & Rory often say they didn’t just choose a wedding venue; they found a place that felt like home for one unforgettable weekend.

The Venue

When Emma and Rory first visited Boyne Hill House, it wasn’t just the beauty of the estate that stood out – it was how it made them feel.

Set within 38 acres of gardens and parkland, the estate offered everything they had imagined for their wedding day. The Georgian Manor House, the Secret Garden and the exclusive-use experience meant they could celebrate surrounded by the people they love, with the entire estate completely their own.

For them, it felt personal from the very beginning. They could picture guests enjoying the gardens, sharing drinks on the lawn, wandering through the grounds and celebrating together from the evening before until breakfast the next morning. It had the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere they wanted, while still feeling elegant and timeless.

Most importantly, they knew they were in safe hands. From their first viewing, they felt genuinely looked after by the Boyne Hill House team, giving them complete confidence that every detail would be taken care of.

Looking back, Emma & Rory often say they didn’t just choose a wedding venue; they found a place that felt like home for one unforgettable weekend.

The Fashion

Emma wore a timeless white couture gown from Ivy & White Bride that was effortlessly elegant, while Rory chose a black suit from Tux & Tails, creating a look that felt both sophisticated and understated. Every detail felt thoughtfully chosen, reflecting Emma and Rory’s classic style while embracing the beauty of the season and the timeless charm of Boyne Hill House.

The Styling and Flowers

Emma and Rory embraced the venue’s natural beauty, keeping the styling elegant, relaxed, and true to the estate’s character. Their vision drew inspiration from the Manor House’s rustic charm and the surrounding gardens, making the venue the focal point of the day.

A palette of soft pastel summer flowers added a fresh, romantic feel, complementing the warm tones of the house and creating a celebration that felt timeless, light, and effortlessly beautiful.

Clare Duggal created the flowers for the day, working with a soft summer palette of blush, cream and delicate seasonal blooms. From Emma’s bouquet to the ceremony and reception arrangements, the florals brought colour and softness to each space while sitting naturally alongside the gardens and warm tones of the Manor House.

the food

The talented in-house culinary team at Boyne Hill House provided the catering. From the drinks reception through to dinner, every dish was beautifully prepared using fresh, seasonal ingredients and thoughtfully presented.

The menu reflected the warm, welcoming atmosphere of the day, and their guests were very complimentary about the incredible food. Having everything taken care of by the Boyne Hill House team made the experience seamless and allowed the couple to simply relax and enjoy every moment with their family and friends.

The Photography

Emma and Rory chose Martin of Big Beard Photography to capture their day, and it couldn’t have been a better fit. His approach is all about documenting genuine, unscripted moments rather than overly posed photographs, allowing couples to be fully present on their wedding day.

From the quiet moments in the morning to the biggest celebrations on the dance floor, Martin has a wonderful way of telling the story of the day as it naturally unfolds. His warm, timeless style and eye for authentic emotion perfectly captured the relaxed atmosphere of this summer wedding.

Best part of the day

For Emma and Rory, the outdoor ceremony in the Secret Garden was the highlight of the day. Surrounded by the people they love, with the gardens in full summer bloom, it was an incredible special moment and everything they had hoped for.

Afterwards, everyone gathered outside for an alfresco drinks reception, making the most of the beautiful weather. Guests enjoyed the gardens in front of the pink manor house, caught up with one another and soaked up the relaxed atmosphere while the newlyweds stole a few quiet moments together.

It was one of those perfect summer days where everything came together seamlessly, creating memories that Emma and Rory – and their guests – will always cherish.
