Almonry Barn has to be one of my absolute faves in the Coco Collection. One of our original finds, it’s a truly spectacular rustic wedding venue set in breathtaking Somerset surroundings.
From the beautiful hayloft with exposed medieval beams where your ceremony is held through to the stunning canopy of fairy lights that adorn the Main Historic Barn, one look and you’ll be head over heels with this venue too.
Louise Wilson-Ward is Almonry Barn’s in-house wedding co-ordinator and super-stylist. Today, we’re seeing her styling skills in action in this inspiration shoot that explores the transition from Winter to Spring. With a fresh palette of greens and blues, perfect florals by Amber Persia and an exquisite cake by Ice Maiden Cakes, there really is a lot to love here…

Louise: This shoot was inspired by the transition from Winter to Spring, with this in mind, we decided on the ‘china blue’ theme – a perfect look especially with spring blooms such as hyacinths and muscari. Almonry Barn is a truly rustic backdrop, but we wanted to add a rather elegant touch for a decadent and luxe twist on this popular wedding style. The overall feel was very fresh, simple and classic with a soft whimsical edge. Easy for any couple to emulate, and a perfect complimentary feel to the texture and rustic feel of the Barn.
Amber: With a brief that the flowers were to be a true celebration of Spring, in a fresh palette of white, zingy green and shades of blue, we chose wonderful varieties such as lilac, muscari, forget-me-nots, bluebells, peonies and viburnum, together with fennel, mint and wild cow parsley for a relaxed, country feel, perfectly in-keeping with the setting. As a finishing detail, beautiful swags on the bridal couple’s chairs are a romantic feature, whilst in the ceremony room a statement vase arrangement is the focal point in this beautiful light and airy space.

I’m loving this blue aren’t you…? A traditional colour made fresh and contemporary. Plus blue was one of the hot picks from our 2015 Wedding Trend Report! Thank you so much to the ladies behind this shoot and the wonderful Kerry Bartlett Photography for capturing it all so perfectly.
