This elegant country house in North Yorkshire, recently restored, is full of history and character but retains a blank canvas feel for your big day. It fits perfectly with this stylish and modern monochrome palette, with a subtle nod to a vintage era of glamour and elegance.

I designed this luxury editorial bridal shoot based around a black & white Vogue cover with Audrey Hepburn from 1959. I wanted this shoot to be the epitome of English glamour so chose the most beautiful and historical venue that has been fully restored. Thicket Priory opened it’s doors last year as one of the premier wedding venues in the North of England.
The venue was the perfect setting for this luxury shoot, it has been so lovingly restored and marries the old and the new perfectly. We used two of the stunning bedrooms for our bride and groom to get ready in and these turned into some of my favourite images.
The black and white theme runs throughout the entire design, with shades of grey to highlight the idea of a black and white photograph. I wanted there to be pearls woven into the details as pearls always remind me of Audrey Hepburn. The dress designer, Stephanie Moran Couture, designed and made this incredible dress with low back and pearl detailed sleeves especially for the shoot. We used pearl hair accessories and even one of the three beautiful cakes had a pearl design.
Although the shoot was inspired by the late 1950’s and the venue has so much history, we still wanted to bring modern trends and design to make sure it was contemporary enough to inspire couples planning a modern wedding. We used modern black acrylic stationery for the place settings, welcome sign and the show stopping seating plan.
Our stunning couple Will and Anna were such a pleasure to work with and I think they portrayed the romance of the shoot with a timeless and glamourous love.
