Lucy and Michael chose Boconnoc because they wanted a venue that could cater for a wedding weekend which meant that guests could stay in one location rather than travelling from one place to another. Boconnoc conveniently has accommodation for up to 40 guests onsite as well as a church and plenty of space for a glamping village in the picturesque Dorothy Garden. It was the perfect option for Lucy and Michael and to top it off, it all sits within acres of beautiful Cornish countryside in a glorious secluded location near Lostwithiel.
Lucy took her time in deciding on the style of dress she wanted, but once she discovered the designer Stephanie Allin, it was clear that her designs were perfect for the type of dress she wanted; one which was easily customised. Stephanie was present at nearly all of her fittings, which gave a very personal touch.
Her dress was accompanied by a custom-made lace shrug also from Stephanie Allin. Her Bridesmaid wore blush pink dresses from Watters which complimented the soft pink pastel toned theme of the wedding.
Lucy and Michael opted for a relaxed festival-style vibe as Michael works in the music industry and they wanted that element to come through. Michael organised more than 10 acts to perform on the day including Angela Ricci, who’s performed with Rita Ora, and The Heavy. A trailer was used as a make-shift stage outside the main house, where some of the acts performed to family and friends to get the party going.
In terms of styling, Lucy and Michael chose florals and seasonal foliage that would sit comfortably in the surroundings of a country house estate, as well as colours that would work perfectly too; pastels, pinks and creams. They filled the Garden Room for the wedding breakfast with stunning, tall floral arrangements, that certainly gave the wow factor as you entered the room, finished off with flickering candlelight through-out.
The gold beaded charger plates were hired from Wedding Flowers in Cornwall and the glass candlesticks for the Drawing Room mantel piece were hired from their florist Simon Nickell. The sophisticated damask patterned tablecloths and napkins were hired from Jones Hire, and fitted perfectly with the understated elegance through-out.
The couple used Simon Nickell Design for their wedding flowers. They decide they wanted to keep the look quite natural to fit in with the feel of the wedding. They decided on lots of garden roses, peonies, stocks, dahlias, hydrangeas, astilbe and herbs. The entrance hall featured a large arrangement bursting with pinks and creams in a large stone urn welcoming guest as they made their way into the house. Trestle tables lined the Garden Room and marquee extension with tall glass vase arrangements dotted with hanging tea lights, and on the tables small floral arrangements in charming glass vases. Doorway garlands suitably dressed the doors of the Drawing Room through to the Panel Dining Room, cleverly dotted with those same pastel tones tying the rooms together.

The cake was from The Cornish Cakery and consisted of three tiers of Victoria sponge, decorated with fondant icing; two tiers were white and one had a gold lustre finish, with dusky pink roses and pink ribbon.
The Photographer the couple used was Amy Shore Photography – Amy has a wonderfully distinct style, and captures people and moments with beautiful authenticity. She has since decided to focus on her automotive photography for the time being.
A highlight of the day was Alfie, the couples Dachshund, walking down the aisle to greet them as they said their vows – he was also featured across all of their stationery which added a wonderful personal touch.
