So last week I got lucky. Very lucky.
There were cocktails in London, new wedding-industry friends made, a breath-taking weekend trip to Boconnoc in Cornwall and a luxurious afternoon tea. It’s the latter I’d like to share with you today…
There may have been some squealing when I was invited to Jo Malone London’s #ScentedWedding event at their very British Georgian townhouse. This was the first Bridal Tea Party hosted at the Jo Malone HQ and it was to celebrate the impending launch of their new bespoke Lace Bottle collection.
It was the ultimate Wedding Breakfast scene; there were divine florals by Philippa Craddock, individually engraved candles as place names, handsome waiters serving peppermint tea and duck egg sandwiches and a fabulously tempting cake by Lily Vanilli. Taking centre stage was the elaborate fireplace where the beautiful Lace Bottle collection sat, perfectly lit by deliciously scented candles.
For me, an ex-retailer and an absolute sucker for British brands, Jo Malone gets me all sorts of excited. I love brands that embrace you, draw you in with their passion and immerse you fully in their knowledge. Jo Malone isn’t just a perfume or a candle, no my friends it’s a lust-worthy lifestyle that’s also super pretty.
The Lace Bottle Collection
Having worn the same fragrance since the age of 18, on my wedding day I wanted something different, something fresh and something that would instantly transport me back to that day. It was such a gorgeous ritual, picking out and choosing which perfume I would wear on the day I became Mrs Hla. Looking back now, I absolutely know I would have been coveting this new collection.
The Lace Bottle is available in three different designs and can be ordered with ten of their most-loved scents: Peony & Blush Suede, Orange Blossom, Red Roses, English Pear & Freesia, Lime Basil & Mandarin, Nectarine Blossom & Honey, Wild Bluebell, Pomegranate Noir, Velvet Rose & Oud, Dark Amber & Ginger Lily.
Their key scents are also symbolic – The peony flower, embodied in Peony & Blush Suede, is the quintessential flower for a bride, thought to be good luck for marriage. Similarly, Orange Blossom is a traditional part of a bridal bouquet as it symbolises good fortune and happiness together. Layer the two scents with Fragrance Combining™ to create a blooming full floral or pick Wild Bluebell as your something blue. How lovely…?
Perfect as a wedding day gift or a treat for yourself, the Lace Bottle is a collector’s piece. An elegant keepsake that will forever remind you of that meaningful moment… *sigh*
Make it Personal
One of the best bits of the afternoon tea was chatting with a Jo Malone wedding stylist from the Sloane Square boutique, together we created my very own bespoke fragrance combination. This, I’ve decided, would be the perfect girly pre-wedding pampering afternoon.
You can book a complimentary wedding consultation for you and up to five of your friends to basically chat all things wedding and fragrance! With arm massages, champagne and beautiful scents to discover, what’s not to love…?
Scent Your Wedding Venue
Now this is where it falls into place for Coco… Jo Malone understand that it’s the personal touch that matters. So not only can they assist with fragrances for the Bride & Groom, but they can also help you ‘dress’ your chosen wedding venue.
From creating a bespoke scent for your day, through to transforming the venue with beautiful candles, personal gifts and luxurious wedding favours to spoil every guest.
The Lace Bottle collection will be available from May and you can find stockist information here. Also, should you wish you book a complimentary wedding consultation you can do so by popping into your nearest boutique or by calling 0800 054 2411.
