Hello from Elmore Court

by Emma Hla
At Elmore they have a very rare and strong heritage that dates back to 1274 and with the founder of Glade festival as an owner, they certainly know how to put on a great party!

Elmore Court is a very unique venue; mixing contemporary sustainability with 750 years of history. An exclusive family home, with grand yet relaxing reception rooms and 16 wonderfully comfortable bedrooms, can be yours for those most special of moments. But that’s not all. Dinner and dancing happens in The Gillyflower; a building made from the land, beautiful, cutting edge and designed purely for you.

Rachel is here to tell you a little more about this special Cotswolds location…

Notes from Elmore Court

Rachel says…

The Main House

The Hall is licenced for our civil ceremonies illuminated by our beautiful stained-glass window and can accommodate up to 200 guests for a ceremony or blessing. Guests can relax during the day in our outrageously comfy sofas in the Drawing Room, with toasty fires during the winter or gentle breezes from the large sash windows during the summer, this has to be in so many ways our favourite room in the house!

The accommodation at Elmore has recently doubled in size, now offering 16 luxurious rooms for your guests to stay on the night of your event. We have also been busy renovating the most recent addition to Elmore, The Coach House. A place for brides and her squad to stay the evening before, totally relax and get into the wedding groove!

The Gillyflower

With festival roots, we like to enjoy ourselves at Elmore and needed a space where we could play music in the countryside and, if necessary, play it loud… behold the Gillyflower! The Gillyflower was created and needed to be romantic, exciting and worthy and also made using materials that could be found on our land. With it’s large windows and glass roof, the Gillyflower lets in oodles of natural light setting the illusion that you are really sat amongst the large dancing daises in our wild meadow. Once the sun has set and the lights go on, the ‘eco-rustic ballroom’ turns into a romantic and exciting space. The dance floor is the real wow factor, with a state of the art LED lighting system, glitter ball and Funktion-1 sound system – your evening party is sure to be one to remember!

The Feast

Food and Drink at Elmore is a major part of what we do and where we’re heading.

We aim to make the culinary experience incredible. Our kitchen team are super skilled and give you the flexibility you need for your special day… We work with local suppliers and with our own wonderful gardeners to ensure our ingredients are as fresh and delicious as possible.

Increasingly we aim to provide more and more of the food from our land. It is dream to be self-sufficient and do our little bit to look after our planet.

We are slowly starting to grow fruit, vegetables, herbs and more in the Gardens and wider Estate; as we all know there is nothing like fresh ingredients and this is very much where we are heading.

The Gillyflower has is own well-stocked bar and we can run the bar anyway you’d like… for some a paying bar works perfectly (and is a lot less wasteful!) and for others all the drink should be free; either way we don’t mind and have staff to serve whatever you like. We can do cocktails or make it theatrical. We can order things in specially, barrels of Ale or rare bottle of vodka. The bar is for you and your guests. It is well stocked with many unusual spirits and our bar tenders know their stuff from the bottom up.

We’re BIG fans of Elmore Court. It’s our go-to venue because we know it ticks every box.
