Beautiful fashion and a luxury, historic location… Bridal inspiration doesn’t get better than this.

With some of our absolute industry favourites, this beautiful editorial shows off both the stunning backdrop of Dorfold Hall and Emma Beaumont’s exquistite and unique designs, all captured dramatically by Vanitas Life.

Notes from Dorfold Hall

Candice & Jen say…

Dorfold Hall is an enchanting and lovingly restored 17th Century Jacobean country home and wedding venue, nestled amongst 800 acres of Cheshire countryside.

Combining the best of the Jacobean splendour with an unmistakeably contemporary feel, Dorfold Hall provided an incredible backdrop for a styled photoshoot showcasing an eclectic array of wedding dresses by the renowned and exquisite designer, Emma Beaumont and captured by the immensely talented photographer Vanitas Life.

Emma Beaumont’s new line was named after the venue and consists of six captivating wedding dresses.

The overall theme for the shoot was to bring back the indulgent elegance of a bygone era, mixed with an ethereal yet contemporary influence. Using a palette of striking soft pinks, blue and ivory, made each individual dress truly stand out and further enhance them as the main focus of each image, alongside the unique and timeless backdrop of the Hall.

Styling

Dorfold Hall – full of grandeur and history balanced with its uniquely eclectic and flawless interiors – provided the inspiration for a “bijou”, yet intricate selection of dresses. They ooze romance, elegance and style, they are timeless yet modern, completely bespoke and full of flair, they are simply oh so sophisticated! A dream!

Three of Emma Beaumont’s designs are featured here; firstly, using an array of materials, such as satin organza and hand-stitched lace, was Emma’s first “blue” dress to play on the saying we all know so very well, “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue”.

The next dress in this collection included an impeccably designed and floral inspired creation, using multiple miniature daisies spread over the torso and cascading down the dress in a waterfall effect.

Finally, and in contrast to the other styles, a bold palette was used… a striking red tulle dress providing the perfect contrast of the contemporary against the striking historic Jacobean brick of the main hall.

In the Coach House – typically used for wedding ceremonies – Fiona, from Fifi Boutique, created a magnificent floral design, with the flowers draping over and around a sweeping spiral staircase, thereby offering an opulent and fabulous setting for photographs.

Each dress was also paired with a bouquet of unparalleled beauty using flowers such as roses, lisianthus, wild grasses of varying colour and type, as well as a mix of wild ferns and eucalyptus.

Emmylou, the face behind Vanitas Life, captured the timeless appeal of this new collection using the beguiling backdrop of Dorfold Hall to enhance Emma’s creations, whilst Vicky Millington coordinated hair styling.

Of this artistic photoshoot Vicky said:

This styled shoot is close to my heart because each member of the team is amazingly creative… Dorfold as a location is so versatile and lends itself so well to being photographed, especially with dresses by Emma Beaumont!

Vicky continues “Hair styling should always complement the whole look, and here, where all the dresses and headband and jewellery were such statement pieces, I decided to keep the hair sleek, but still effortlessly elegance and with a modern classic feel. It was the most beautiful shoot and a fantastic team!”

Brides looking for wedding dress inspiration need look no further for a designer where each and every gown is both unique and utterly breath-taking. We also hope that, with such an extraordinary setting as Dorfold Hall, and the many combined elements this shoot has shown, you will be able envision concepts and ideas that will help you weave the most unforgettable of days for your wedding day.
