One of Cheshire’s hidden gems, Dorfold Hall is an enchanting privately-owned family and stately home dating back to 1616.
Fabulously romantic it is surrounded by stunning gardens, which merge into the rolling landscape beyond, forming a setting ideal for an idyllic and unsurpassable day.
The juxtaposition of the contemporary and the historic is fascinating, it can be found not only in the interiors of the Hall itself but where the spaces for the wedding breakfast and reception drinks are concerned.
Dorfold Hall is found on the outskirts of a charming market town – Nantwich. Itself only 15 minutes from the M6 and from Crewe train station. The latter is only 90minutes from London and 35 minutes from Manchester.
Quintessentially English, Dorfold Hall is a magnificent Jacobean house, surrounded by enchanting gardens and woodland. Oozing old English charm at every corner, it makes for a breath-taking backdrop for you to tie the knot.
Dorfold Hall is an unquestionably romantic wedding venue, available to hire exclusively, so that you and your guests, can enjoy it in complete seclusion. They offer a truly bespoke service, in the belief that each couple deserves to be able to create their own tailor-made experience for their wedding day.
With its tree-lined driveway and lake, the entrance to the Hall is memorable in itself, but then the lush gardens, Dingle and hidden dells, amongst many other features are just as captivating. Not to mention the uninterrupted views offering themselves as far as the eye can see from the South lawn.
The gardens have often been described as “reminiscent of (Burnett’s) The Secret Garden”.
Their Coach House, with large ancient oak doors opening up into the shade offered by a 1000-year old tree, offers rustic charm for civil ceremonies.
Surrounding a courtyard and set alongside the timeless backdrop of the Hall and the historic Coach House, the contemporary structures of L’Écurie – for the wedding breakfast – and the Tack Room – for reception drinks – come together to engender the most unique of atmospheres. L’Écurie itself, is a spectacular space suitable for all manner of celebrations, flamboyant or modest, large or more intimate. Their capacity is 60 to 180 for seated guests.
The Bridal Suite, designed for King James I, with high ceilings, beautiful plasterwork, wood panelling, magnificent views and an enormous dressing room will not disappoint. Whilst, the four other bedrooms each offer the greatest of luxury, in their own individual style. Aside from the five bedrooms inside the Hall they also have several cottages. They blend some fascinating historical features with all the modern amenities one yearns for. The cottages have 3, 2 and 1 double bedrooms bringing the total number of guests you can have staying in the Hall and grounds to 22 adult guests.
Aside from the rooms, the Dining Room and barrel-vaulted Drawing room will both be available to use for dinners, lunches and evening drinks.
