A Real Bride’s Prezola Story

Ali here again, and this time I’m joined by one of our Prezola brides, Gabi Sheen, who kindly shared her gift list story with us. Gabi and her husband Chris married on the 23rd of May 2015 at Almonry Barn in Somerset. After the fun of their wedding, which included a ‘Pimp your Prosecco’ station, they were treated to an amazing honeymoon, with special experiences on their trip coming from their friends and family through their Prezola list.

Notes from the Bride
Our honeymoon was planned by Chris, I left the whole thing up to him to plan. It meant there was one less thing for me to worry about and as Chris typically plans our summer holidays I wasn’t too worried about handing this responsibility over to him! I had a few musts – I wanted to have some sunshine at some point and some luxury too. Chris planned us the trip of a lifetime: 5 nights in Las Vegas, 9 nights in Montego Bay, Jamaica and we finished the trip with 5 nights in New York. I hadn’t been to any of these places and Las Vegas and New York were in my top list of dream destinations, so he did a great job!! We made such amazing memories that we will treasure forever…
We decided to go for a Prezola Gift List as we loved that we could combine monetary gifts for our honeymoon along with more traditional items for the home – we knew having this option would please our guests and the functionality of the Prezola honeymoon lists where guests can specially pay for an activity rather than just feel they are contributing towards a larger sum of money really won us over. The honeymoon fund presents ended up being the most popular gifts by far. We asked for a range of items from breakfast in bed, massage treatments and cocktails to dinners, watersports activities to tickets to a Frank Sinatra show, Broadway tickets to a Cirque Du Soleil show in Las Vegas and our favourite, a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon – this was actually the first present bought on our list, we were so surprised by how amazingly generous our guests were.
The honeymoon contribution was a great idea as it really allowed us to go to town with the honeymoon. During the planning of your wedding you tend to focus all efforts on saving for the wedding and paying for the honeymoon so suddenly having to save for three weeks honeymoon spending money is another thing to add to the list – the honeymoon fund ensured we could purchase all the romantic dinners, theatre tickets, and treat ourselves to massage treatments and extras with ease. It was also lovely being able to come back and tell our guests about these experiences. We sent photos of ourselves carrying out the activities to the guests who had purchased us the gifts whilst we were there!
However, being into interiors and home style too we also picked out a couple of items for the house…
Home Accessories
KitchenAid Artisan blender, £179 – We have been attempting to stay healthy with smoothies blended to perfection in our Kitchen Aid blender.
Emma Bridgewater Cake Plate, £39.95 – I have been channelling my inner Mary Berry with my Emma Bridgewater! We opted for the Polka Folk Cake Stand as we have matching Mr & Mrs dotty mugs too – the gift list enabled us to complete the full set as we already had the teapot and milk jug! (similar product shown)
Newgate Clocks Putney wall clock, £95 – Chris is notoriously late for everything – this has helped us try to remedy this!
Roberts Radio portable DAB radio, £170 – I have had this item on my wish list forever and was delighted to receive it as a gift, it keeps me company from my home office every day.
