Victoria & Adam’s Autumn Wedding at Bury Manor Barn

Written by Caitlin Hoare
Tweed suits, velvet green dresses, and dried flower bouquets… it must be autumn!

Victoria and Adam had a beautiful autumnal wedding in West Sussex at Bury Manor Barn, a lovingly restored barn with old oak beams and versatile modern facilities. With a rustic, seasonal theme, a gorgeous four-legged friend, homemade touches and some excellent advice (Victoria says, “Stay calm, enjoy the whirlwind and soak it all up”), we think this is the perfect way to wrap up the first week of October.

Enjoy, folks, and happy Friday!

Notes from the Bride

Victoria says…

We wanted a church wedding and a barn reception, so Bury Manor Barn perfectly ticked all our boxes, making it easy for us and our guests. The church is located next to the venue with its own private gate from the church straight onto the venue’s terrace. We also adored the other aspects of the venue that our guests could enjoy, adding to the fantastic setting for our day. The views from the terrace were stunning, and the atmosphere was perfect for our autumnal theme. The venue could not have been more helpful and supportive during the process; they were flexible and accommodated our requests.

We wanted to go with the autumnal theme, so the tweed-style suits and velvet bridesmaid dresses all assisted in bringing this together.

We wanted to do as much of the decoration ourselves, so some of the finer details have a homemade touch. Burgundy and forest green were the go-to for the colouring, with the hessian bunting adding to the feel of the rustic barn.

A family friend prepared all the flowers for our big day, and we were so pleased we went for the dried flowers option. We are so lucky to continue to enjoy them for years to come; they now feature in our home decor.

Tanya prepared our delicious cake, and we wanted something easy to share with guests. So, as well as one large cake, we opted for multiple-flavoured cupcakes to share with our wonderful guests.

Charleigh Victoria Photography was recommended to us by a friend, and we are so glad we went for her. She was calm, patient and discreet. We were filled with confidence and were over the moon with our photographs.

Best part of the day

It’s hard to say, really; we put so much into planning all of the fine details and were so glad that we did as everything went to plan and so smoothly. I think sharing it with our family and friends and the tingling feeling that it was our special day and finally here. We loved every minute and want to relive it all again.

From one couple to another…

Stay calm, enjoy the whirlwind and soak it all up.
