Exclusive hire of Bury Manor Barn – a large Tudor building, amphitheatre, lower lawns with views to the river Arun, elevated terrace with expansive views, walled garden.
Bury Manor Barn is one of the finest wedding venues in Sussex and can be found at the end of a quiet village lane, on the banks of the River Arun. It enjoys panoramic views of the valley.
A stunning Tudor barn, set in the picturesque rural village of Bury, near Pulborough in the heart of the South Downs National Park. The barn and its idyllic surroundings are in the grounds of Dorset House School – one of the oldest prep schools in the country.
Steeped in history, records of the Manor date back to the Domesday Book. Bury Manor has had many incarnations – from a monastic building in the 12th century to a traditional manor house and a popular Edwardian House party retreat from London. This is an incredibly individual and special venue.
Church, Civil or Humanist ceremonies can be held in this unique setting.
In addition to its stunning riverside setting and amazing views, the Bury Manor Barn site includes several distinct areas including:
At Bury Manor Barn, there is the freedom to decorate to your chosen theme; whether that be traditional wedding, a rustic affair or a day bursting with colour. The barn has retained its original wooden beams which you are free to dress to add to the overall look. There is a superb `state of the art’ LED lighting system in place for you to use too.
Bury Manor Barn is a venue for all seasons – each with distinct appeal.
Two perfect magnolia trees frame the entrance to Bury Manor Barn and the grounds look perfect in the spring sunshine. The log fire in the inner barn is of course available if the weather is chilly.
In the warmer months Humanist ceremonies can take place in their wonderful amphitheatre, where guests can take a seat in the sun with the river Arun, Amberley Castle and the South Downs before them. The huge door on the side of the barn looks south towards the pond with further expansive views.
Are always spectacular with changing colour of the many trees which are a feature of this site. The barn looks lovely dressed in seasonal tones at this time of year.
With twinkling fairy lights and the roaring log fire, Bury Manor Barn is the perfect spot for a cosy winter wedding.

We do have a preferred suppliers list which can be viewed on our website. This includes people who are known to us personally and many are familiar with the venue. We hope this list will be helpful as you plan your day but you can choose other suppliers (apart from caterers) should you wish.
We do not have an in-house caterer but you do need to choose one of our 4 preferred caterers. They are all happy to work with you to perfect your menu and vary from traditional to street food. Please note that this is a nut and sesame free site.
You are free to use your own style when decorating the barn but it is a Grade II* listed building and so you cannot hammer nails into walls or beams and all decoration must be temporary. There are some pre-existing fixings which you are free to use. Please run your ideas past us before going ahead.
