Sofia & Ash’s Sandon Manor Wedding

Written by Caitlin Hoare
So. Much. Fun.

Sofia and Ash’s laid-back, non-traditional wedding at Sandon Manor is the wedding I wish I had an invitation to, and once you have a scroll through, I can guarantee you will, too. Luckily for us, their wedding images by Lee Daniels Photography document the day so well that you kinda feel like you were there!

There are heartwarming (and hilarious) moments galore, dancing down the aisle, epic dance floor moves (this couple LOVE to dance!) and gorgeous golden hour portraits on the lawn. Sandon Manor truly is the most magical canvas on which to create the wedding of your dreams, and S+A really did do just that.

Notes from the Venue

Holly says…

Sofia & Ash went completely untraditional, with no cake, no speeches, no bridal prep, no bridesmaids or best men for their chilled wedding day. Instead, they filled their day with bags of energy, love and laughter, reflecting their true selves and the love they share.

This laid-back, relaxed approach is everything the team behind Sandon Manor believes a wedding to be. However dazzlingly different, Sandon Manor provides a magical canvas to create your dream wedding.

Looking radiant in a relaxed silk wrap dress, Sofia made a captivating entrance down the aisle, dancing solo to the delight of her family, who watched remotely from Uruguay via livestream. It was a heartwarming moment that perfectly encapsulated the spirit of their day. Ash met her halfway, wearing a natural light green linen suit, and they danced down the rest of the aisle together.

The outdoor ceremony, featuring an interpreter, was nestled among the olive trees beneath the summer house, harmonised beautifully with their laid-back festival vibes. The natural surroundings and the intimate setting created an atmosphere of warmth and love, making the ceremony all the more special.

The couple created relaxed floral displays using dried foliage and flowers in creams, pinks and natural shades.

Cambridge Dining Company created a fantastic sharing Antipasti board to be served during the reception drinks featuring a selection of ham, salami, cheeses, homemade focaccia, hummus, sun-blushed tomatoes, olives and rocket. The guests then sat down to enjoy Chivito sandwiches with a selection of sides and salads, followed by a ‘help yourself’ dessert station. The evening food was Gramajo (a Uruguayan sort of dirty fries).

Lee Daniels Photography is a documentary wedding photographer based in Rutland and Lincolnshire. Romantic, heartfelt storytelling: Lee has a genuine passion for delivering beautiful images that reflect the authentic and sincere emotions of a wedding. We love Lee’s work and how he makes the most of the natural landscape: a large moody sky, the magic of golden hour and those dreamy starlit evenings, which we have in abundance here at Sandon Manor.

Sofia and Ash created the best party to round off their day, featuring culturally diverse entertainment from Imperio Bamba band and DJ Amanda.

Sandon Manor offers laid-back luxury, combining sophisticated charm with a relaxed atmosphere, making it the ideal wedding venue.
