A romantic, ethereal elopement in the heart of London.

{10-11} Carlton House Terrace’s beautiful blue room was the chosen setting for today’s stunning editorial with bridal couture designer and Supplier We Love, Cynthia Grafton-Holt. A space which fully enhanced the brief of ethereal lightness, grace, elegance and simplicity, resulting in a gallery which is the epitome of thoughtful, understated luxury, perfect for the one-of-a-kind bride.

Notes from the Planner

Andreea says…

The palette of warm white and soft blues was inspired by the image of a Parisian clear sky; a mix of different shades of blue, peppered with soft white clouds. The blue room at {10-11} Carlton House Terrace – a stunning Georgian townhouse in the heart of London, was therefore the ideal setting for our shoot.

Inspired by a modern romance in a classic setting, our elopement editorial brings together both vintage and modern elements, that have a timeless quality. The details were all carefully handpicked and handcrafted, to add a distinctively personal touch.

We imagined our modern couple would have a mixed background – the bride from Paris and groom from London. So, we incorporated elements inspired by each of the two cities. The emphasis was on the two bridal gowns – one seductive organza gown, with pearl appliques, ruffles and a plunging neckline adding a Parisian couture flair. While the other, elegant, delicate and a little more subdued; with details reminiscent of classic 1900s English summer lace dresses, like the high collar and long sleeves; yet with a very contemporary, ethereal look.

The main objective of our shoot was to show exquisitely crafted signature details and bespoke elements that could become beautiful heirlooms in time, in order to shine a spotlight on handmade, sustainable beauty, and conscious luxury. From the superb handmade details of the bespoke gowns produced by luxury couture wedding dress designer Cynthia Grafton-Holt to the delicate fondant flowers of the cake, the hand painted details of the stationery on hand-made paper, the organic cotton and bamboo silk for the table linens, all the way to the foam-free and seasonal floral installations. Ultimately, we wanted to put forth bridal inspiration that is stunning, indulgent and luxurious, yet conscious and relevant for our time.
