Fiona & Tristan’s Wedding at Water’s Edge at Ewen Cotswolds

Written by Emma Hla
On a perfect day in July, Fiona and Tristan exchanged vows in a simple and stylish outdoor ceremony at Water’s Edge.

The setting was nothing short of a dream come true, captivating everyone in attendance with its natural, serene beauty. The breathtaking venue, nestled in the heart of the Cotswolds, provided a stunning backdrop that left guests in awe as the couple declared their love. It was a day of pure magic.

Notes from the Bride

Fiona says…

Our ceremony took place by the stunning lake at Water’s Edge; it was a magical backdrop, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Cotswolds.

The modern and cosy reception area perfectly blends contemporary aesthetics and warm ambience. We found the venue’s interior design perfectly matched our taste, creating an atmosphere that felt uniquely us. Emma, Steve, Alex, and the venue’s staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Their warm and welcoming nature instantly put us at ease, making us feel relaxed and cherished.

The menu for canapés, the wedding breakfast, and midnight snacks was incredible. Our friends and family were treated to a culinary journey! Water’s Edge’s chefs prepared a fantastic feast. We savoured dishes like Heritage tomatoes with Burrata and quinoa, a crayfish and crab cocktail, a Cotswold Duck salad, and an array of main course options.

The accommodation was as beautiful as it was convenient. We loved the opportunity to stay on-site the night before and after the wedding. With many international guests in attendance, the Cotswolds was the perfect backdrop for a quintessential English wedding.

My dress was a simple yet elegant creation by Suzanne Neville from Ellie Sanderson in Woodstock. My bridesmaids wore timeless navy dresses, each tailored to them and purchased from Rewritten. We opted for a natural makeup look, and Mark Blake worked their magic on the bridal party’s hair, adding elegance to the overall look. The groomsmen wore navy suits to match the bridesmaids, while Tristan stood out in a lighter suit tailored to perfection by Edit Suits.

The wedding’s theme, “Simple and Stylish,” reflected our taste. A white palette complemented the green interiors of Water’s Edge, requiring minimal additional decoration. Honeysuckle Flower Co, led by the friendly Christiane, created stunning floral arrangements that perfectly matched the desired style.

The cake, a masterpiece by Isabelle at Zaza Marcelle, was a simple yet elegant white sponge, a sweet centrepiece for the celebration.

Our photographer, with a calm and unobtrusive style, beautifully captured the essence of the day.

Best part of the day

The best part of the day was undoubtedly walking down the aisle, surrounded by loved ones. The speeches added fun, making the celebration even more memorable.

From one couple to another…

Take five minutes to connect with your new spouse and soak in the joy of having all your loved ones together. It’s a day to cherish forever.
