Written by Emma Hla
This editorial screams micro wedding decadence – the pink ombre, rose table-runner alone is a stunner!

The playful colour palette of pinks and lavender work perfectly with the chic surroundings of 10-11 Carlton House Terrace. Over to Natasha, founder of Pearline Events, for all the details…

Notes from the Planner

Natasha, Founder of Pearline Events, says…

I desired an elegant location in the heart of London for our shoot and when I saw Carlton House Terrace, I knew it would be perfect. I fell for this breath-taking venue with its large bright rooms, high ceilings, elegant period features and let us not forget their fantastic chandeliers! It exudes luxury, style and elegance which was what we wanted to showcase.

We used No. 11 Carlton House – which includes the Music Room, Wolfson room and the gallery, along with a gorgeous balcony with brilliant views of Westminster.

The theme was about using elegant, timeless items, luxury details and incorporating subtle colour to create beautiful, romantic inspiration. We wanted to ensure that each part of our editorial complemented the stunning Carlton House Terrace. With gorgeous wedding details that couples, who want to create modern elegance, can incorporate into their wedding day. I handpicked a fantastic team of talented suppliers who helped bring this vision to life.

The extraordinary, light photography style by Maxeen Kim Photography expertly captured the striking details that are in this special London venue and the gorgeous elements in our editorial. Her stunning luminous photography was perfect for this shoot.

Inspired by a crystal mural wallpaper that I saw with its pretty pastel colours. I took my colour palette from this using complimentary soft colours including lavender, soft pinks and creams and shimmering tones. This helped to create a romantic, dreamy and fresh look and feel for this beautiful editorial.

Embrace colour. The colour palette we used was eye catching. Choose a complimentary colour palette, using different shades and bring it through in various details in your wedding, from the décor to gorgeous table accessories to create a beautiful and stylish look.

Our editorial took place in March when the days are starting to get brighter and we were able to make the most of the light and views at this unique London venue.

Cynthia Grafton Holt created an exquisite bespoke gown just for this shoot, to complement the beautiful venue and our stunning bride. The ‘Angelica’ gown included a gorgeous chantilly lace front and train, intricate embellishments and feathers on the shoulders and a sensual low back, which all worked perfectly together. The long sleeves also make it ideal for a spring or winter wedding. The groom wore a 3-piece tailored light blue suit fitted by the tailors Style Networth.

PS with Love provided a custom-made freshwater pearl hair comb and hair pins (part of the Eva set). They added an elegant, luxurious hair statement which complemented the dress beautifully. The talented Makeupology created a radiant, soft glam bridal makeup look for our beautiful bride and elegant hairstyle, with her hair cascaded in lovey soft curls, which added to the romantic feel.

The London Victorian Ring Company provided an exquisite engagement ring featuring a brilliant round cut diamond highlighted by diamond-set stepped shoulders.

The wedding table was key for this editorial, to help portray the gorgeous colour palette. I styled the table using luxurious silver tablecloths and striking napkins chosen in muted lavender to add impact all provided by 88 Events. I mixed this with exquisite glass charger plates, vintage glass candle holders, champagne crystal champagnes glasses and blush pink wine glasses from Classic House Crockery. I also added a range of my own candles in blush pink, lavender, and ivory to work with the ombre effect in the striking floral centre piece.

Scritto Design created a beautiful bespoke stationery suite including lovely lilac coloured, tasselled menus, adding texture and a stylish edge. Scritto Design created special place settings for our bride and groom using stunning rose quartz agate slices. A wonderful, mirrored table plan was also created with delightful modern white calligraphy.

Claire Owens Cake designed a spectacular 4-tier cake which portrayed the ombre effect through gorgeous watercolour using the softest, prettiest pink and cascading layered petals effect. Breath-taking!

With Carlton House being such a stunning location, the flowers were carefully selected to enhance the already beautiful interior, adding drama without being overpowering. Queen of Hearts Floral Design created a striking floral table runner made up exclusively of exquisite David Austin Roses, in shades of cream, light pink, lilac, fuchsia and purple. It really created the wow factor through all the pretty colours and its 10ft length. The bride and groom’s chairs were also decorated with eucalyptus and a beautiful David Austin rose and tied together with lavender silk ribbon.

The fireplace arrangement was designed with height in mind, to complement the rose table runner, which was a lower arrangement. The fireplace arrangement was mainly foliage including honey bracelet, eucalyptus, and leather fern. For touches of colour lilac delphinium, iris and lavender were added. To bring the look together Queen of Hearts Floral design added some blush roses at the bottom, also used in the table arrangement.

Queen of Hearts Floral Design created the bridal bouquet using orange alstroemeria, peach gerber daisy, large garden roses in shades of deep orange, purple dahlia and cala lilies. These chosen flowers worked to add a pop of vibrant colour within the setting and complement the wonderful bridal gown.

Our awe-inspiring images show couples this stunning venue and what is possible to achieve for their own memorable wedding day. Work with your venues aesthetics you don’t necessarily need to go over the top with elaborate tall table flowers either in a large venue, the beautiful low floral arrangement used, created such an impact and really complemented the light and airy space and beautiful interiors.
