Bohemian Elegance at Kingston Estate in Devon

Written by Emma Hla
We love this boho styling inspiration for a summer wedding…

The classical elegance of the Kingston Estate country house in Devon fuses perfectly with this boho styling, using earthy tones, hints of blush, and natural greenery.

Over to Hannah at The Natural Hire Company (and one of the Suppliers We Love) for all the details…

Notes from the Stylist

Hannah says…

Kingston Estate is a beautiful country house tucked away in the rural South Hams. It is elegant, classical with beautiful tasteful new additions around the grounds such as a yurt and barn development.

When I viewed the property, my mind began ticking on how we could incorporate boho, but in a style that was in keeping with the grounds and Georgian manor. I achieved this by mixing old with new, all the while sticking to my vision of using only natural and recycled items.

As we shot in summer, we used homegrown and in-season flowers. We opted for bleached neutrals mixed with greenery and white.

For the dresses, I opted for one classical bride, coupled with a more relaxed bohemian style. Both dresses were provided by Filly Frocks Bridal, and designed by Maggie Sottero. Hair was by Styling Like Katie, with an elegant up do for the classical bride, and a more relaxed bohemian style for the boho bride. Make up was by Makeup by Zoe L, using dramatic bohemian smoky eyes, with soft English rose lips.

All of the props, d̩cor and styling were provided by us РThe Natural Hire Company. We wanted to ensure that everything was in keeping with our ethos which is to reuse, upcycle and use natural materials. The fan arch was made using reclaimed floor boards!

The sofas are all preloved with the cushions recovered in a natural linen fabric. The small vases and pots on the al fresco dining table shoot were loaned to us by Price and Coco. They have a beautiful array of glass, clay and wooden vases, along with the hessian runner and bamboo tray.

The cake featured on the al fresco shoot was provided by Lottie’s Cupcakes Bespoke. She opted for white classical flowers to match the elegance of the house and its grounds.

Our florist was Holly Bee Flowers. She grows her own stock and uses the flowers which are in season. She opted for English garden flowers, neutral, pink and pastel shades to compliment our styling.
