From a relaxed pizza night to a lively dance floor and a Sunday BBQ, their wedding weekend was the perfect example of how magical a full weekend experience can be. Over to the Sandon Manor team for all the details…

Why limit a wedding to just one day when it can be an unforgettable weekend? Bex & Bob embraced this wholeheartedly at Sandon Manor, turning their celebration into a three-day experience.
From the moment they arrived, Sandon Manor felt like the perfect setting for their ultimate wedding weekend. Drawn to the English country house charm and the unique combination of historic romance and contemporary design, they knew this was the right place.
The Day Before
Bex & Bob welcomed their guests with a relaxed pizza night and personalised welcome packs, creating a calm start to the weekend. Bex even surprised her bridesmaids with a nail-painting station; a small, spa-like touch that set the tone for the celebrations ahead.

Wedding Day
With loved ones staying on-site, the day began in comfort and excitement. The ceremony took place in our medieval barn, followed by a sociable banquet at long tables. Guests enjoyed a roaming band, a playful limoncello cocktail stand, and a photo booth capturing candid moments. The evening ended in the Club Room with dancing that lasted late into the night.
The Day After
Rather than saying goodbye immediately, Bex & Bob hosted a relaxed Sunday BBQ, allowing everyone to relive memories from the celebrations and enjoy one last toast together. Sandon Manor’s flexibility allowed them to extend their wedding into a full weekend.

Bex always dreamed of a modern-day Disney Princess look. Wearing Suzanne Neville’s Debussy gown with a handmade Swarovski veil, her style was soft and romantic. The wind on the day was a paid actor, only adding to the whimsy! Bob wore a timeless three-piece suit in shades of blue, finished with a striking hot pink rose buttonhole to echo their vibrant theme.
Our spaces are designed to be a blank canvas for each couple’s personality. For Bex & Bob, that meant a romantic, whimsical theme with Parisian flair and bold pink tones woven throughout.
They created a handmade table plan with miniature suitcases, each named after a destination from their travels together, and gave personalised luggage tags as keepsakes. As Bex said, “It’s the little details that make an event memorable.”
Working with florist Sophia Rose, the couple infused the space with timeless romance through lush roses, sweet peas, peonies, and hydrangeas. Bridesmaids carried posies that matched yet varied slightly, celebrating their individuality within the unified palette.

At Sandon Manor, food becomes an integral part of the memory-making experience. Bex & Bob worked with Cambridge Dining Company to curate a menu featuring pulled pork croquettes, roast chicken with wild mushrooms, and playful desserts; a sticky toffee pudding and a lemon tart, favourites of the bride and groom.
Their cake was especially meaningful, lovingly made by their best man and finished with miniature icing armchairs from Up! to symbolise their dream of growing old together. Too cute, right? Around it sat their favourite cookies from Batch Fifty Two, a fun and personal indulgence guests adored.
Choosing the right team to capture your day is vital, and Bex & Bob found magic with photographer Laura Vieceli and filmmakers Abigail & Luke. Their warmth, artistry, and attentiveness ensured that every detail was beautifully preserved, from confetti in hair to makeup touch-ups. As the couple put it, these professionals didn’t just document their wedding, they “told the story of it in a way that feels timeless, heartfelt, and uniquely ours.”

For Bex & Bob, every moment was special, from the welcome pizza night to the calm wedding morning. But one memory stood out: walking into the reception for the first time. Seeing their vision come to life was, in their words, “overwhelming in the best way… a rare feeling that everything we had dreamed of had become real.”
Trust your instincts: “The moment you find the right venue, the right dress, or the right supplier, you’ll feel it.”
Focus on what matters to you: “It’s the little personal touches… that make the day feel truly yours and unforgettable for you and your guests.”
