Becky & Joe’s Bohemian Wedding at Browning Bros.

‘Pick the beautiful dress, pick the wonderful venue and pick food that you know you will enjoy!’

…in Becky and Joe’s case that was a vintage fish and chip van and a retro ice cream van – inspired! They got married at beautiful blank canvas venue, Browning Bros. on one of the hottest days of the year. They tied the knot in a boho-inspired woodland wedding ceremony which took place under the dappled shade of the tree canopy, before settling into the day and enjoying everything this laidback, rural setting had to offer.

Notes from the Bride

Becky says…

We chose Browning Bros. as our wedding venue because of its beautiful surroundings, facilities and its accommodation. It suited our wedding vibe with a bohemian, rustic, natural feel. The idea of getting married in a forest with lanterns above our heads was perfect. It was such a wonderful experience. The staff throughout the planning journey and on the day itself were amazing, friendly, helpful… the list goes on. I can’t explain enough how much they helped and made the experience as stress-less as possible. We stayed in the most beautiful yurt during the wedding that was both spacious and quaint. I may be biased but I truly believe it’s the best place to get married.

My wedding dress by Grace Loves Lace was stunning, I’d never imagined wearing a dress so beautiful. It was made from elasticated lace meaning that it fit like a glove and there wasn’t any zips or buttons so it was super comfortable and I wore it the whole day.

My hair was done by Natalie Jane who was wonderful. She added clip-in extensions and beautiful flowers to complete the wild bohemian look and make up was done by Alina Aldone Beauty who used natural tones which lasted all day. It was 36 degrees that day and my make stayed perfect the whole time!

The groom and groomsmen wore Hugo Boss suits that were tailored to give them the perfect fit. Our flower girl wore a beautiful dress from UK Flower Girl Boutique and our little page boy had an adorable suit from the same company.

The decor was mainly done by myself and friends using Pinterest ideas. I went to local woodyards to get sliced tree logs for the flower arrangements, I used milk bottles small and large to hold the flowers and Gü Desserts pots for the fairy lights. Julia Eastwood provided the beautiful table places and table plan, which fit the theme perfectly.

Jessica Blume, our florist, was a recommended supplier from Browning Bros. and she used seasonal flowers to fill my wedding. The scent was absolutely amazing, they also lasted for a long time after the big day. I loved them so much I took most of them home to fill my house with the beautiful smells!

Our rustic, three-tiered cake was from Pinkface. It was the tastiest cake I have ever had. We had Prosecco and peach, lemon and chocolate fudge. The style of cake was naked so it almost resembled a silver birch tree with additional real wild flowers to tie into the theme.

Jess Soper Photography was our photographer. She was fantastic, she really helped make the most beautiful memories from the day. She was friendly and so easy going, she made the whole experience very relaxed and fun. We used smoke bombs to create some beautiful photos which made for some amazing shots.

Best part of the day

The best part of the day was being with family and friends and seeing how much fun everyone was having. Dancing in the evening and having a log fire at night chatting and talking. Listening to the speeches was also a beautiful experience.

From one couple to another…

I started planning two years before our wedding day. I would say you are only (hopefully) going to get married once so style it around what you and your partner love. Pick the beautiful dress, pick the wonderful venue and pick food that you know you will enjoy! We had a vintage fish and chips van and ice cream van which was the best ice cream I’ve ever had! We still get compliments from our guests over our food choices. Don’t go with the norm! It’s your day make it fun and memorable.
