Our brand in a nutshell
We’re the nation’s tailor – always on hand to share our expertise and help men look and feel their very best on occasions big and small.
What we want to achieve for you
We know that your wedding day is one of the biggest days of your life, so we want to set you up to feel amazing for your moment in the spotlight. We believe great tailoring gives a confidence boost that’s hard to beat, building self-esteem and pride in your appearance when it matters most.
Hire
Hire is our best-known and most-frequently used service for grooms, particularly if you’re after a more traditional look that you wouldn’t wear again. However, we also accommodate more modern grooms with a range of contemporary lounge suits and sharp tailoring from our in-house labels and leading brands like Ted Baker, French Connection and DKNY.
Hire in general is best if you want to try something a bit different without committing to buying it, or if you need to dress a large wedding party while keeping an eye on costs – we’ll even dress the groom for free in wedding parties of five or more!
We want hiring with us to be as stress-free as possible, so the service is flexible to fit your needs. Start your hire by researching and building your look online, then go in-store to try it on or, vice versa, get an expert’s advice in-store then complete your order online in your own time – as soon as you’ve set up an account, you can switch between the two at any time.
Once you’ve chosen your outfit, dress your wedding party in coordinating styles in a range of fits, switch out the accessories or give everyone individual looks. Our range of junior suits means your littlest guests can look as sharp as the big boys, too.
If your wedding party is scattered in different locations, they can give us their size details online, or they can get sized for their outfits as well as pick-up and drop-off at any of our 120 stores nationwide. Wedding in a different location to your pick-up store? No worries – take it back to the nearest store to your venue (or, better yet, get a groomsman to do it!)
Hire packages start from £60.
Ready-to-wear
Ready-to-wear is usually chosen by smaller wedding parties, although we can also accommodate bigger parties – sometimes the groom might want to buy his suit as a memento of his big day, but we can dress his wedding party in coordinating styles from our hire collection to keep budgets in check.
Ready-to-wear starts from £99.
Tailor Me
If any day calls for a truly special suit, it’s your wedding day, so grooms can take the chance to create their best-ever suit with Tailor Me. From fabric to fit and the all-important styling details, we’ll craft their custom suit in just 30 days. We’ve had grooms pick linings and stitching colours that coordinate with the bridesmaids’ dresses, while a monogram of the wedding date or a quote that’s meaningful to the couple embroidered onto the inside of his jacket is always popular.
Prices start at £299.
Advice
For grooms who want to stand out from their wedding party (while still maintaining a cohesive overall look for those all-important photos), we advise mixing and matching. Try dressing the groom in contemporary tails with the groomsmen in coordinating lounge suits, or perhaps give the groom a fancier waistcoat to wear (maybe even use Tailor Me to create a one-off waistcoat exactly how he likes it).
An easy styling trick that differentiates the wedding party from guests is to give them two pocket squares each – one in a colour that coordinates with the bridesmaids and another that ties in with your day’s overall theme.
Trends for 2018
In terms of trends for next year, blue continues to be huge for grooms with shades of ice to peacock, navy and everything in between. Blue suits are universally flattering and a great way to add a little colour to big days.
Elsewhere, we’re seeing more and more grooms be braver with their colour choices – teals, burgundy, silver, the lot. It used to be all about the bride’s look, but grooms are just as style-aware these days and want an outfit that reflects their tastes and personality too.
For the fashion-forward grooms we’re looking forward to suits in dusky hues for 2018 – think soft, dusk skies with iced tones of blue and green and bleached shades of pink and cappuccino. Sharply cut suits in romantic colours are part of our SS18 ready-to-wear collection.
Checks have been huge in tailoring for the last year or so, and this has moved into groomswear too (an area that’s typically more traditional that wider men’s trends). We’re really happy to see more grooms take on partnered suits and stand out for their big moments.
