About
Setting

Nobleman John de Burgh first granted the family Guise the Elmore Estate in 1262, with the rent being a nominal ‘clove of Gillyflower’ each year. The owner, Anselm has 20+ years of experience in the music and events industries and turned Elmore into something that makes the best of their skills and passions while maintaining tradition and keeping the incredible history alive.

Unlike many grand historical houses, Elmore Court was not built for military, religious or ostentatious purposes. It was built as a functional homestead for family use and entertaining guests. Everybody who has come to stay in the house has felt the unique warmth and energy of the building. Many have commented on a certain magic about the place when it is being used to bring people together. However, this allure can be partially attributed to Anselm’s kind and welcoming nature.

Ceremony

The main house has four stunning ceremony and reception areas. The primary one is the Hall, the heart of the house and an ideal location for a ceremony for up to 150 seated (and 50 standing) guests. The Drawing Room, The Morning Room, and The Porch (the house’s front steps are useable for an outdoor ceremony) make up the other three licensed ceremony areas.

Reception

The jewel in Elmore’s swan-topped crown is The Gillyflower. It represents everything this generation of the Guise family is trying to accomplish. These festival-minded souls enjoy seeing you and your guests have the wedding ceremony and party of your dreams. Within the house, they celebrate tradition, while in the Gillyflower, they embrace innovation and evolution.

The Gillyflower boasts a 200-seated dinner capacity and up to 400-dancing to the custom-made Funktion-One AmbiSonic Sound System, designed to have specific features to make it perfect for weddings and events. The circular speaker layout means the sound can be contained within the dance-floor space so those who don’t feel like dancing can still comfortably converse and observe the frolics of others, which is perfect for the older generation who may not like the music or its volume! Meanwhile, those on the dance floor are treated to a sound quality worthy of any club. The sound can also be calibrated to fill the whole space should you want to crank things up to a proper wall-of-sound party vibe. The building is fully soundproofed, so the music will not disturb early sleepers.

A unique fibre-optic lighting system designed and installed by Bruce Munro adorns the Gillyflower. There are huge seated windows with views over woodland and the Cotswolds. Outside, in full view of the Gillyflower, is a cosy fire pit with paths leading through the wild meadow to a huge area for boutique camping. The Gillyflower is constructed from local estate-farmed timber and rammed-earth walls hidden behind ‘living walls’ consisting of Ivy, Virginia Creepers and other beautiful climbing plants. Hi-speed Wi-Fi, biomass-powered air conditioning, a premium built-in bar, a catering marquee and an in-house events manager ensure this is the most complete and cutting-edge country wedding venue available in the UK today.

Accommodation

The house has 16 beautiful bedrooms with unique characters. These include the oak-panelled Master Suite with a Caesar-sized bed, en-suite facilities and a double bedroom attached, which can also be used as a bridal dressing room. Further rooms include the fantastic Oak Room with its 350-year-old 4-poster bed and freestanding copper bath. Every room has been carefully modernised, then individually styled and redecorated to maintain the traditional feel of the house and inspire guests with their inventive attention to detail. The total sleeping capacity is 39 persons, with the option of adding supplementary single beds. All rooms include their carefully selected all-you-can-eat breakfast menu, consisting of the classic full English alongside yoghurts, mueslis, cereals, fruits and pastries. Everything is high quality, free range and locally sourced as far as possible.

Food & Drink

Food and drink are a major part of what Elmore Court does. They aim to create an incredible culinary experience. Their kitchen team are super skilled and gives you the flexibility you need for your special day. They work with local suppliers and with their own wonderful gardeners to ensure their ingredients are as fresh and delicious as possible. They have a well-stocked cellar and a fantastic team to ensure you have the day you want.

While you are free to bring in your own caterers, their chefs specialise in fresh, locally sourced dishes, with many ingredients grown right there on the estate.

From seasonal menus to bespoke wedding breakfasts and private feasts, their team ensures every meal reflects the quality, creativity and warmth for which Elmore Court is known.

Sustainability

An environmentally sustainable ethos is the foundation of operations at Elmore. The Gillyflower has been built using earth and timber from the Estate, and a newly installed Biomass boiler heats both the house and Gillyflower using wood from the estate. In-house catering is an exceptional offer, with food being sourced locally and from the kitchen garden. Whilst the focus is on how to make the most of your celebration during your stay, the intent is to get back to the basics of how a traditional country estate was run. The vision is that the House, Gardens and Estate will all work together to become a shining example of low impact and self-sufficiency without compromising comfort and style.

Thanks to everyone at Elmore Court for making our wedding day the happiest and most special day of our lives! Nothing was ever too much trouble for the fabulous team at Elmore – you are all so kind and helpful and we really valued all of your ideas and suggestions. The venue is just amazing, from the quirky bedrooms to beautiful, bright ceremony room, we are so pleased we chose this stunning venue for our day. Thank you everyone at Elmore!

Quite possibly one of the most incredible venues, teams and experiences!!! Unfortunately I cannot express just how perfect they are, which isn’t great for a review, but, just, OH MY GOD!!!!! I’m so annoyed it’s all over and we can’t do it all again! Genuinely the best team I’ve ever worked with, absolutely every detail was covered and nothing at all was too much for anyone there, every guest commented on the service, atmosphere and of course, the food!!!! They even put up with us until 4am and they couldn’t have been happier!! No wonder it’s been voted one of the best venues in the country!! The rooms were incredible too and the breakfast the next morning was perfect!! Every team we dealt with from our dedicated wedding planner, food/catering organiser and accounts department were proactive, helpful and thorough!! The experience from the day before in the gorgeous Coach House to the day after the wedding was spectacular!! Love you all guys! Should be a 10* venue !! We can’t wait to come back to each and every one of your open days to try and relive it all!!

We had our dream wedding at Elmore Court. The venue is gorgeous, the staff are so talented and attentive and really we couldn’t have asked for more. The chef is very talented and impressed us with the quality and presentation of our food, which was a fully bespoke Italian menu and he had no problem pulling it off. The staff were also lovely throughout and the whole wedding ran like clockwork. Our guests absolutely loved and it and many said it was the best wedding they had ever been to! Highly recommended wedding venue A+++++

Sam & Andrew

The best day of our lives was at Elmore Court! We were lucky enough to get married there in May, and wow, it was the day of our dreams, a complete fairytale. The place is full of magic. From the first time we saw it, we just knew it was the venue for us. Always a good sign when even a viewing can make you emotional!

We spent two days (long Thursday) at Elmore, which made our wedding even more special, having extra time to be in and enjoy this beautiful place, and it really does feel like your home, even just for those two days!

The team are absolutely incredible, Esther was amazing from start to finish. During our day, I didn’t have to use my brain once!!! I was just told where to be and what to do, it was so incredibly well organised. Also, the food served at Elmore is divine. We used many of Elmore’s recommended suppliers, and another special mention of our florist, Jenny Fleur! All the suppliers we used were amazing. We loved it so much, we will be back next year for our anniversary at the tree houses.

Thanks again Elmore team for helping us create our dream wedding day it was beyond perfect and a day we will remember for the rest of our lives xxx

We cannot recommend this venue highly enough. Elmore Court stole our hearts from our first viewing and only continued to exceed our expectations throughout the whole planning process. From the Open Days, booking process, food tasting to the on ‘the day’ staff, Team E’s dedication to make your day perfect is above and beyond the call of duty. The service is exceptional; a special mention to Leesa our designated coordinator who always managed to make us feel at ease no matter what the question. Team E never seem to fail to greet you with a smile, it must be a fantastic place to work. Our only regret is that we cannot do it all over again!

Sian & Simon

We had the pleasure of holding our summer wedding reception at Elmore. When we went along to a wedding fayre there the year before, we couldn’t leave without booking it! From then on, throughout the planning process, all of the staff at Elmore couldn’t do enough for us. No question was deemed silly and no ask was too small. Right from our food tasting (which felt like going to an exclusive restaurant for the afternoon) to allowing us the time to decorate the venue, we were made to feel so special throughout. They are extremely knowledgeable and experienced and we trusted them entirely with everything.

The venue itself is completely unique and has the most divine, quirky features that made our day so memorable. During the reception itself, the staff were so discrete and it felt like we were having a wedding at home! They were beyond helpful and so attentive to us all.

There is a magic at Elmore Court that is indescribable and we feel so fortunate that we were able to be a part of it all. We had a day that we will treasure forever and can only thank everyone there and the beauty of the place itself for making it happen.
