Why…?
Because it’s the inspiration behind my very own wedding day.
I’m thrilled to be sharing our big-day story with you all on the Coco Blog this week and what better way to start than by showing you my own ideas, desires and dreamy colours schemes…
The boy and I wanted an English Garden style wedding, with our friends and family surrounding us, in a relaxed (and pretty) setting…
Once we had found our venue it was clear the colour would come from the stunning array of flowers and buds that peppered the grounds behind a secret wooden door, so our palette quickly became a gorgeous mix of creamy neutrals – allowing me to add girly touches of blush and more masculine hues of navy and metallics. I also wanted to use foliage, and lots of it! The minty greens of the seasonal leaves were delicious!
My girls wore floral headbands, think oversized delights with large blush roses and delicate gypsophelia. I also had visions of blush chiffon dresses, an ambitious colour to pull off! But it fit perfectly with the flower fairy look I so wanted to emulate!
The boys wore bouts of large ivory roses and sprigs of rosemary, a traditional love charm, tied with bronzed ribbon.
Our cake, a cute naked number was finished with a dusting of blush and ivory blooms. The table it sat proudly atop, had this very garland in metallic and blush tissue draped across the front.
My dress was a traditional affair but my flowers were wild and luxurious, rose gold and peachy pearls played a part in my accessories and the bouquet tones set this off perfectly.
Each table setting had a simple kraft paper menu and a rosemary sprig, pretty blush sequinned runners created a bit of sparkle.
The venue was dressed with vintage lounge set-ups, making the most of our English Garden setting…

Gosh, it seems like it was only yesterday I was planning this day of ours…
I’ve now been a wife for a total of 9 months, this first year of newlywed life is flying by!
As I’m fast approaching our one anniversary and indeed the one year mark for the Coco lightbulb moment, it seems fitting to finally be sharing the wedding that started it all…
A sneak peek until next time!
