Introducing the Stylish and Charming Chateau Lacanaud

Chateau Lacanaud is situated on top of a hill in the glorious wine region of the South West Dordogne.

Chateau Lacanaud, which sits in the middle of a 20 acre estate with the added benefit of woodland and a stunning lake, is owned by the lovely Jonny & Liz Fuller who have injected this already beautiful chateau with some extra style and charm.

Today we’re getting to know this venue a little better thanks to Wedding Planner Perfect Day by Karen, and this beautiful editorial.

Notes from the Planner

Karen says…

Chateau Lacanaud is private, exclusive and totally unspoilt, the grounds are breath-taking and at every turn there is something new to take in. This intimate chateau’s stunning grounds are equally as beautiful as the 10 bedroom house, which can sleep 24 people. Chateau Lacanaud offers heaps of luxury while maintaining a home away from home feel, and from the moment you step through the front doors you will relax into the charming atmosphere.

Before I ever viewed this venue, I saw the promotional video and with the infinity pool overlooking the lake it was a must find!

There is so much to love about this chateau, and one of the main things that caught my attention was the lake. There are many lakes in this area but it is quite unusual for it to be so close to the chateau, and to have an events space which overlooks it is something extraordinarily unique.

Another element to this venue which is amazing is just how many areas there are for couples to use; from the front courtyard to the rear lawns, and if you fancy a woodland-inspired wedding there is a stunning area covered by trees which would be a dream for any outdoor wedding.

Imagine inviting your close friends and family to a pre-wedding evening where you can all relax and enjoy drinks and canapés in the courtyard or one of the chateau’s many terraces. Then on the big day your guests are led through the main chateau picking up a glass of fizz en route before settling into their seats on the lawn. The ceremony is then followed by drinks by the lake, before moving on to the wedding breakfast and evening party. Then why not invite everyone back for a pool party the following day to relax and reminisce about the wedding the day before.

Chateau Lacanaud offers plenty of space for up to 150 guests for your wedding celebrations, it is also becoming increasingly popular for smaller intimate gatherings too.

When you first walk into this venue you can tell someone with an eye for detail and style has had a massive influence on the décor which is perfectly harmonised throughout the whole property.

“I love layering old pieces with new and successfully combining antiques with modern accessories to create timeless personal spaces that are both beautiful and welcoming.” – Liz Fuller

This chateau has one surprise after another as you move from room to room, however the stand out room for me is the ‘secret bathroom’. In the bridal suite there is a spiral staircase which leads up to a splendid bathroom. With an exquisite Boston bath, this bathroom features high ceilings and is situated in one of the towers in the chateau, which just reminds me of a fairytale.

A wedding at Chateau Lacanaud is unique and completely personal to each couple. With this venue having so many options it means that no wedding has to be the same and each wedding can be tailored to suit each couple’s personal taste.
