Crumplebury – An Extraordinary Wedding Venue, Exclusively Yours

Written by Caitlin Hoare
Crumplebury, an award-winning, eco-friendly, swoon-worthy wedding venue in Herefordshire, has launched a brand new (and super exciting) exclusive package: The Crumplebury Takeover.

As the name suggests, Crumplebury’s new offering is a takeover of the whole venue, giving couples the ultimate wedding experience, in the most stunning of settings. It’s true, extended hire periods and exclusive use arrangements aren’t anything new. But they are a popular choice for couples, and with good reason! The relaxed approach, the flexibility, the endless opportunities that come with all that wonderful extra time and the chance to spend proper quality time with each and every one of your guests is a real luxury and a true privilege.

So, we’ve established that Crumplebury’s exciting new package is a hit, and it’s evidently a popular request from wedding hunting couples, but what does it actually include? Couples that opt for the Takeover will be able to take the whole site for three days, including 1,500 acres of private country estate, 11 spoiling suites, the Hen House, a variety of indoor spaces from the Grand Hall to the Art Gallery and they have the option to use the stunning outdoor ceremony space which is nestled in a secret woodland glade.

“When it comes to weddings here, the sky really is the limit,” says Crumplebury Founder and Creative Director Keeley Evans. “We delight in the extraordinary.”

For those who aren’t already familiar with Crumplebury (where have you been?), it’s a state-of-the-art events venue and restaurant with rooms, which launched in November 2019 on the Whitbourne Estate in Herefordshire. Owned by Joe and Keeley Evans, the farm on which the venue is set has been home to the Evans family since the 1860s so it really is a family affair.

Crumplebury’s flexible entertaining spaces, perfect for a variety of wedding celebrations, include The Grand Hall, which can seat 200 banquet-style, The Art Gallery, with an auditorium capacity of 120, The Atrium, The Drinking Trough bar and The Snug.

The venue buildings – architecturally designed, modern and unique – rise from a wildflower meadow surrounding the old 18th century farmyard, and the rolling farm fields and ancient woodlands of the Whitbourne Estate, criss-crossed with footpaths, stretch as far as the eye can see. But weddings and farming are not their only business, Crumplebury also incorporates the critically-acclaimed, 30-cover fine dining restaurant Green Cow Kitchens, serving seasonal tasting menus using the very best produce foraged and grown on the estate.

Speaking of food; it’s seasonal, sustainable and truly delicious. Wedding couples will be able to build their perfect foodie experiences to surprise and delight up to 150 of their guests. Over the three day festivities they can even treat their loved ones to masterclasses from cocktail-making to wine-tasting, and organise sporting endeavours from clay shoots to a hard-fought game of cricket or rounders underneath the centuries-old Crumplebury Cedar tree. The experienced events team will work hand-in-hand with the couple to curate an exclusive and unique wedding experience like no other.

“The Crumplebury Takeover is a new concept,” says Keeley. “Every wedding is wonderful, but this gives couples the chance to curate something truly memorable and personal to them.”

She continues, “We’re incredibly lucky here to have 1,500 acres of rolling Herefordshire countryside for couples to call their own, beautiful spaces and unique experiences which will live with them for ever. We’re perfectly secluded, at the end of a mile-and-a-half-long private track, and we know our couples value the privacy and beauty of this landscape as they celebrate with us.”

If you, like us, love to imagine what it might look and feel like to host such a special occasion in such a wonderful setting, it’s not hard with everything Crumplebury has to offer…

Before the main event, why not kick-start your wedding weekend and welcome your guests on site with an intimate woodland supper party in a candlelit glade in Longfield Wood. Follow the babbling brook into the Sapey Valley where you will stumble across Crumplebury’s chefs cooking up an awesome barbecue on the back of the farm Landy. Or, keep things closer to home and get the festivities started with a spectacular Fire Pit Feast on the Sunken Terrace, with fabulous fizz and homemade cocktails at the ready. Both options sound absolutely magical, and remember, that’s even before the wedding day has begun!

To make the three day hire even more luxurious and worthwhile, twenty-two guests can stay onsite in Crumplebury’s luxurious bedrooms, including the Hen House with its wood-fired hot tub and private garden with sensational views. The eleven guest bedrooms, all individually-designed, are named after the farms and coppices on the estate, feature stone and copper roll-top baths and the most breathtaking of views.
