Formerly Castlerley Barn, now Chalk, we wanted to re-introduce you to this incredible barn wedding venue in Wiltshire. Chalk Barn offers the most amazing space for a truly bespoke and exclusive wedding. At the heart of each Chalk wedding is the family business ethos that a wedding is the whole experience and not just the day.

Why Chalk? We hear you ask.

The barn itself is situated in the heart of the largest Chalk Grassland in Europe. It is the foundation that the estate is built on and therefore the name itself truly encompasses the next phase of the brand’s evolution.

Estate owners, Joe and Isabella Wookey say “It has been a difficult time for the events industry as a whole with Corona and we decided to use this time as a period of reflection. An opportunity to make positive changes to our infrastructure, brand and offering, enabling us to emerge from Lockdown stronger than ever before. We have redecorated the barn alongside putting in motion many other exciting plans for our future growth on the estate, including accommodation.”

We really have poured our hearts and souls into creating a new image that would accurately reflect who we are, where we are going and what our valued guests love most about us.

Whilst this may be a significant change, our core beliefs and values remain the same. Under this new brand we will continue our commitment to always provide the best level of service and an exceptional experience in the most beautiful and exclusive of locations.

Chalk is set at the heart of a 5000 acre organically farmed estate; it is a wedding venue where sustainability and elegance combine to provide a super stylish and modern space.

Chalk Barn is a unique and captivating space with its wall-to-wall windows that take in the stunning views of the Wiltshire countryside, beautiful interiors, and the surrounding organic farmland, it is an idyllic setting for your celebrations.

However, it is not just the style of the venue that is so captivating, Chalk Barn exemplifies a modern wedding venue for the modern couple – built using eco-friendly techniques and running entirely ‘off grid’, generating much of its energy using solar power and a biomass boiler.

We also have several accommodation options on the Chalk estate and with so much beautiful space around the venue we also offer couples and their guests the opportunity to take advantage of our glamping accommodation within the grounds.

Our Services

From the moment you view Chalk Barn, we encourage our couples to be creative and unique using Chalk Barn and its surrounding grounds as their own. With our two day hire our couples can relax and enjoy the set up of the wedding with many often bringing a picnic and bubbles with their gang and suppliers the day before whilst the team are ever-present with endless tea, cake, and an extra pair of hands.

We also do a little rehearsal of the walk down the aisle if the ceremony is with us just so everyone knows their places and timings – Always a favourite of mine – along with running through all the final details to make sure everything is exactly as it should be.

We aim to deliver an exceptional wedding experience from booking to post wedding day departure, helping every couple have the exact wedding day they have envisioned. We pride ourselves on our exemplary service and attention to detail, but also that we provide a relaxed and fun environment to plan and host your wedding allowing couples to enjoy every moment of their wedding journey.

Planning Tip
