I’ve been waiting for what feels like forever to be able to share today’s moodboard…

This soft palette of fresh spring colours was the foundation for the first Coco Editorial and collaborative shoot – A New Beginning.

My first adventure into the world of styled shoots, I was lucky to find an incredible partner in Katrina Otter Weddings & Events, plus the extremely talented Rebecca Goddard Photography came along to capture our efforts. You may have seen the shoot on a rather renowned wedding blog (or two) and indeed in print, but this week it’s coming home to Coco.

A New Beginning was inspired by early, fresh spring days with a slightly moody edge. When the air is thick with dew and the days are breathing hope. Katrina and I wanted rustic, idyllic and organic elements within a soft pretty palette of duck egg blues, dark luscious greens and creamy whites…

We wanted our youthful Bride to be dripping in lace. We felt creamy off-whites would reflect the freshness and romance of the season.

Accessories were to be kept simple – think barefoot, undone hair and gorgeous vintage jewels including a coloured gem for an engagement ring. This look yearned for a floral crown and so we decided upon a simple yet intricate fresh floral wreath to sit atop cascading hair.

This lust for intricacy continued into the florals – we wanted creamy white blooms, delicate seasonal sprigs all mixed with lashings of green foliage! Our styling would centre around a sweetheart table with elegant vintage details and our place names would be scripted in faded grey calligraphy.

Last but by no means least, we wanted some delicious treats for our guests – signature cocktails and buttery cakes were the order of the day!

We truly loved designing this Rustic Romance inspiration and you can see all of the ideas behind the shoot on Pinterest here.

The full editorial will be running on Coco this week, including a beautiful account of the flowers we used as well as a yummy recipe for the featured cocktail courtesy of The Travelling Gin Co.

So pop back soon!

Lot’s of love…
