Askham Hall is an exciting new addition to Cumbria and the Lake District. With an array of beautifully appointed bedrooms, a restaurant, private gardens, spa and converted wedding barn it has everything you could possibly need from a wedding venue! It’s style is most definitely luxurious, intimate, unpretentious, up-to-date and full of rustic charm.

Of course, this beauty belongs to the Coco Collection and the team recently sent me some brand new imagery of the venue – quite simply I had to share!

Askham Hall:

The historic Askham Hall is a distinctly different place to say ‘I do’ in the Lakes. Sitting proudly on the edge of the Lake District National Park, this grade I listed hideaway dates back to the late 1200’s and is the former family home of the Earls of Lonsdale.

As well as a new Medieval Banquet Hall and a stunning Party ‘Barn’ for weddings, there is a recently installed Wedding Pavilion in its Grade II listed gardens. There is even a freshly refurbished Gypsy Caravan for couples to sign the register, all set amid 12 acre gardens boasting an orchard, formal lawns and a 230 foot long double herbaceous border.

Later, wedding parties can take a stroll around the grounds and enjoy uninterrupted views of the River Lowther and surrounding countryside.

Askham Hall offers wedding menus overseen by internationally acclaimed Consultant Chef Steven Doherty and his team.

He was the first chef to head up a 3 Michelin Star restaurant, Le Gavroche in London, and knows a thing or two about serving up a wedding feast bursting with seasonal style and ingredients straight off the Lowther family estate.

Wedding guests can also lap up the unpretentious luxury of this 13^th Century retreat with an overnight visit to Askham Hall itself.

With 12 unique bedrooms (and an additional 3 from 2016), they can even stay in the ancient Pele Tower – the oldest part of the house which has previously hosted members of the Royal family. With an invitation to unwind and feel totally at home, there is no need for formalities as couples celebrate their big day with the ones who matter most.
