White Bohemian Luxe at Godwick Great Barn

Written by Caitlin Hoare
All white everything…

The only minimalist part of this styled shoot is the colour palette. Aside from the tonal whites and buttery neutrals, this whole look is 100% beautiful boho luxe! From the inclusion of drapes and ropes, to the blend of dried and fresh flowers, and the tables bursting with vases and candles. It’s a vibe and I am so here for it!

This inspiration piece features not one, not two, but THREE of our amazing suppliers. The venue is of course the charming and rather magnificent Godwick Great Barn, the florals were created by the incredibly talented Floral Sistas, and the shoot was planned and styled to perfection by The Little Lending Company. What a dream team! Over to Penny from TLLC to tell all…

Notes from the Stylist

Penny says…

Godwick Great Barn is an inspiring, rustic, open barn with polished concrete floor, pale wood roof and red brick walls. This unique blank canvas space was the perfect backdrop for us to create our modern styled set up.

Our relaxed luxe wedding inspiration was ‘cloud like’ with tones of white, dried flower arrangements and a touch of warm taupe throughout. An overall contemporary, textural and tactile setup with two ceremony backdrops, including a light, airy arch frame and a mixture of hanging fabrics. We added knotted rope running along banquet-style tablescapes and an abundance of candlelight, all topped off with indulgent, grazing boards.

Our colour palette was very subtle with shades of white, off-white and soft biscuit – adding to the modern and clean vibe.

The fashion and beauty element included stylish and contemporary wedding outfits, perfect for a fashion-forward bride. We included three different choices for the ultimate inspiration, with dresses and jumpsuits including puff shoulders and power blazers. Dewy, modern makeup with hints of glitter and the short hair style completed the stylish bridal looks.

We focussed on two different ceremony set ups. Outdoors we created a fresh spring delicately curved arch area with jute rugs, perfect for Godwick’s lush light open space. Inside we suspended fabric drapes from the ceiling to the floor with a mix of plinth arrangements around Godwick’s staircase for a more intimate feel. Tables were decorated with transparent netting, large groups of white bottles and black straight stem candlesticks with statement stands. The statement floral arrangements at the ends of the tables included knotted rope which was also twisted all along the rustic tables for added depth. We added little ceramic tea lights and candleholders to the displays, and Petal and Paper Co provided simple stationery which was placed on oatmeal linen at each place setting.

Shot in spring we used lots of white blossom and other white spring flowers; anemone, gypsophelia, lisianthus, limonium, ranunculus, white cuscus, bleached ferns, honesty and dried palms all arranged by Floral Sistas.

This shoot can easily be achieved through wedding styling and can be scaled up or stripped back to make the day fit into budget. It’s a take on a modern white wedding and building on the all dried flower trend to be more seasonal with the inclusion of fresh flowers too. The fashion choices show a range of cool, comfortable looks and options for day to night too.
