Wedding Venue Dressing by Verdigris

Written by Emma Hla

I just love this time of year! The rings have been chosen, the Champagne corks have popped and couples who got engaged over the festive season are possibly starting to plan their weddings beyond the venue.

Inspired by their chosen location, it’s time to get excited by all things décor and style related! So, I thought I’d introduce you to one of our sponsors Sami from Verdigris.

Sami is the lady behind this Venue Dressing Company and she’s here to explain a little about how she might be able to assist planning your big day. To illustrate just how clever Sami is we have this beautiful styled shoot styled by Sami herself and shot by Albert Palmer Photography.

The shoot is soft gothic in feel with subtle arhitectural and antique touches that are a little reminiscent of Miss Havisham. The florals by The Flower Hive are rustic, seasonal and wild with foliage and blossom being the focus.

So read, pin, be inspired and if you love what you see then Sami is offering 10% off styling services to our lovely Coco readers (just give us a little mention).

Enjoy!

Notes from Verdigris

Sami:

Three years ago I decided to make my biggest passion (and job) into ‘Verdigris’, my very own permanent creative outlet for new ideas. A platform to really develop my art into a seriously stylish and individual brand for wedding, party and event design.

My name is Sami Green, I am director, head designer, prop maker and installation fairy at Verdigris. My aim is to offer you a personal service from start to culmination of your project.

I have been lucky enough to ecru experience through working for some great events companies, as well as picking up jobs in my ‘holidays’ at some of the artiest festivals in the UK. I have been commissioned to create magical hospitality areas at Glastonbury and create sets and environments for stages at several others.

Apparently I have been blessed with an innate eye for detail and a boundless imagination!

This enables me to provide you with unique concepts and flawless orchestration.

The idea is that I talk with you, listen and help you share your personality as a couple, through your choice of decoration. Whether it is a yurt or a big top, a ballroom or a barn I have solutions up my sleeve for all of them.

So, how does it work..?

First you have to get in touch and tell us about your project.

Initial discussions and price guides are free, but because we don’t do packages and every wedding is individual so I need to know a little about your venue, design ideas and colour schemes. If you have a Pinterest board please share with me! We can then decide how to create your dreams in the chosen space.

If you just want to hire items from stock and have a clear vision that’s great, if you don’t we can build mood boards for discussion and I can illustrate ideas until we get it totally right.

My history in the business means I have a wealth of contacts to call upon. I am able to offer full support for all the visual elements of your day, from stationery to stunning floristry, and even sourcing the perfect furniture to compliment your scheme.

If you have already booked suppliers we will work with their designs or get in touch to share mood boards to ensure that the overall look is seamless.

My solutions include fabric treatments for walls and ceilings, bespoke aerial centrepieces, table dressing and lighting as well as sound and sensory elements.

Everything you need to transform your blank canvas and add intimacy, making your occasion totally unforgettable.
