A hint of the past with a modern twist; individual, colourful and with masses of old fashioned romance. A palette of blush, peach, rich pink, ivory and pops of vibrant orange, all set against a background of richest turquoise, brings a freshness to the florals, whilst the choice of flowers (scented roses, ranunculus, tulips, hellebores and lilac) adds to the glamorous feel. Source props from both the past and the present and use pieces which are special to you; the wonderful antique bedspread is a family heirloom, the Edwardian glassware has been picked up in antique shops, charity shops and good old Ebay, whilst the intricate cutlery came from Zara Home.

Old meets new in this Modern Vintage tablescape which captures the romance of a bygone era, but with modernity brought about through the careful use of colours and textures. An antique Victorian bedspread, in a wonderful shade of turquoise, trimmed with rose pink and ivory, provides a stunning backdrop for the florals, and both contrasts and compliments the vibrancy of the flowers.
Characterful accessories such as the vintage Pall Mall glass decanter and glasses, add charm and personality to the table, whilst the practical can also be pretty for example the ancient cut glass salt cellars. Finishing details add a personal touch to the table setting; in this case we chose flamboyant floral cutlery ties of scented roses and parrot tulips, tied with grosgrain ribbon, to add to the romance and glamour of the table, but in a different situation it could be a sprig of fragrant rosemary and simple length of hand frayed silk ribbon. It’s gestures like these which make your table setting truly memorable.
