The Look by Amber Persia; A Coastal Cool Tablescape
I’m excited to introduce the first instalment of ‘The Look‘ by Amber Persia… In this series, Amber will be creating beautiful inspiration features that focus on each of the six Coco Style Categories, perfect for your own big day inspiration.
Today we’re taking a trip to the beach in this rather haunting portrayal of my fave category – Coastal Cool. With a simple, but effective tablescape and a mix of vintage treasures and high-street picks, Amber is guiding you through how to recreate ‘The Look‘…
A relaxed weather worn look; laid back, understated but with just a hint of glamour. Soft painterly faded florals overlaid on stone-washed linen introduces a subtle contrast in textures. A palette of softest dove grey and shades of blue and stone evoke the colours of the sea and the sky.
Forage the beach for nature’s gifts; rocks tumbled in the ocean for millions of years with holes perfect for taper candles. Contrast with exquisite cut glass and antique silver to highlight the beauty of both the found and the crafted. Planks of salvaged driftwood become rustic table runners whilst wonderfully smooth and tactile pebbles become vessels for natural sea salt and crushed peppercorns.

In this snapshot of Coastal Cool we wanted a tablescape which would catch the imagination, offer inspiration for those planning a wedding near the sea, and illustrate our design philosophy that to get The Look is all about details.
In this case those details include a simple but striking pebble runner which winds its way along the length of the table, bespoke napkins printed in-house to add to the relaxed feel (and a unique keepsake), and innovative uses for beach combed treasures such as the unusual cutlery rests for the aged fish knives and forks; finishing details don’t have to be expensive, simply thought out.
