Notes from the Photographer

Jo says…

Workshop Artisan organised a magical, dreamy shoot for female wedding photographers at the beautiful Grade I listed venue, Prestwold Hall; a neoclassical style country house set in the heart of Leicestershire that offers exclusive hire weddings.

Inspired by the beautiful interior spaces, a palette of peach, gold, pink and cream ran through the styling, flat lays, flowers, cakes and table settings to create a cohesive, fine art style wedding shoot. In addition to the peach tones and luxurious styling, a beautiful balloon arch of gold and white was created to surround the grand piano and create an incredible focal point to that part of the dining room.

Two dresses were used on the shoot, one peach ethereal and floaty by Watters for a very romantic look and the other – an elaborate lace-detail dress by Essence of Australia. This had an added detachable overskirt by Pronovias, which added a more classical Vogue-ish look to the shoot. On a cold January day we were also lucky enough to venture outside for some golden late afternoon sunset shots.

Hair and Make Up By Saskia says “I wanted to create a stripped back classic make up look using neutral palettes and a glowy natural base to suit the fine art styling of this shoot. I created a textured modern up do to compliment the dress that Phoebe wore and a classic sleek pony with an editorial feel finished with a simple headband on Meghan, which worked perfectly with the fitted style of the dress. I adore how natural make up and simple hairstyles can really make for a beautiful classic bridal look.”

For this beautiful shoot, Cake by CD worked from the brief to create a trio of elegant cakes with a hint of wildness through the climbing sugar roses. The complimentary petite cakes and handcrafted morello cherry marzipan treats would be a lovely addition to a wedding cake.

Bradgate Flowers created romantic, billowing blooms in peach, pink, pale yellow and white. Statement florals featured in the dining room to bring drama and elegance.

We hope couples take inspiration from this editorial shoot and think it would particularly appeal to those opting for a romantic, luxury, elegant feel. From the statement florals to the beautiful balloon arch around the piano, we have curated scenes which can really add the wow factor to any wedding.
