So I’m doubly excited by today’s blog offerings as not only does Tara, stylist behind Tickety Boo Events, play with this bold choice but it’s all so that Jodie at Sami Tipi can introduce this spectacular new Derbyshire meadow venue that’s joined their collection.

Illustrated with bright, wild florals and a boho tablescape of dreams, we’re crushing on the incredible potential of this new spot for your tipi wedding.

The Venue

We are super lucky at Sami Tipi to be invited to work with lots of gorgeous venues, it is always such a treat to be invited to a new site who is considering venturing into offering outdoor weddings. My recent site visit took me to Priory Meadows at Breedon on the Hill in Derbyshire; a luscious meadow location surrounded by mature trees and greenery.

To mark the launch of this new site we pulled a team together to capture a shoot to show off everything it has to offer. It really was a photographer’s dream with so much to work with. We gave full rein to Tara from Tickety Boo Events to create the look and concept, having 100% trust in the suppliers you work with gave us the freedom to know an excellent job would be achieved.

Tickety Boo Events

The inspiration behind the shoot was the idea of an ‘offbeat elopement’. I wanted to work with a contrasting colour scheme of black and brights. I was also wanted to include an alternative vibe that had the bride in Doc Martin’s and a leather jacket. The striking black dress worked well against the bold flowers, dark makeup and the backdrop of stunning views and rolling hills. I dressed a pallet picnic area with large lanterns, lots of black and white, pops of colour and bright large floral displays.

The idea that two people could run off together and get married off the beaten track was one that I loved, and the images captured so beautifully by Magda K, really showed that level of intimacy.

Jo Beth Floral Design

The florals were created by Jo at Jo Beth Floral Design and combined a mix of vibrant colours including orange, hot pink and purple to create a contrast against the dress. The style was natural and relaxed with a loose hand tied bouquet and floral crown to reflect the outdoor theme and summer vibe. Touches of colour ran through the lanterns and arrangements dotted amongst the picnic area to link the whole look together.

The Wedding House Derby

The dress worn by our model is by Jasmine from their Belsoie collection. With dainty straps, low back and a flattering cross front, the dress incorporates layers of tiffany chiffon to create a dreamy floating effect.

Make-Up by Sophie Downing

My makeup inspiration came from the upcoming makeup trends containing lots of glitter which was incorporated into the base of the eye, adding beautiful dimensions to all eye shapes which will suit everyone.

The eyes were vamped up by adding bold black smudged liner which softens the overall eye shape making the statement vampy lip suit perfectly with the dress and accessories.

Hair by Saskia

I loved everything about this look; with Sophie giving Sally, our model, a gorgeous plum lip and dark smokes on the eyes, I wanted to keep the hairstyle really simple. We created some loose waves and added the gorgeous bright flower crown and the black dress, with the dark makeup this look was perfectly edgy for our eloping bride.
