The Pear Tree – A New Wiltshire Wedding Venue

Written by Emma Hla
This romantic, high-fashion editorial shows off a beautiful and brand new venue in Wiltshire – The Pear Tree.

Inspired by The Pear Tree’s beautifully executed blend of classic Cotswold charm and modern architectural features, Jennifer Louise Weddings and team created romantic styling for the contemporary couple. Imagine a sumptuous mix of luxurious textures, whimsical pampas and subtle metallics.

Notes from the Planner

Jennifer says…

I wanted to create an editorial look that enhances the understated sophistication oozed by the Orangery of the newly renovated The Pear Tree, an exclusive hire venue nestled in rolling Wiltshire countryside. And so, a romantic, elegant look, infused with chic industrial luxe emerged in my moodboards.

For my colour palette, I punctuated white, ivory, soft blush and dusty rose hues with a contrast of black and soft metallics to create an edgy twist on romanticism. With this, I sought to mix textures – from smooth satin and delicate linen to brushed gold metals and modern acrylic – with an abundance of florals and flickering candlelight to create a visual that feels intimate and suited to a modern couple who appreciates classic styling.

Décor + Details

For our ceremony setting, the aisle backdrop featured a dreamy and romantic love letter scroll, whilst the tablescape featured gold-rimmed glassware, pearl charger plates and delicate linen napkins contrasted by matt black cutlery and industrial ghost chairs.

The sumptuous and flowing flower arrangements – interspersed with feathery pampas for a soft and billowing look – were presented upon statement white pedestals and complemented by modest, low centre arrangements. Continuing our blush, white and black palette for the invitation suite, Made by Wood and Wood created a minimalist design that featured a unique arch-shape cut for a modern symbol of a passageway into a new married life. This suite was completed with a statement Order of the Day signage which continued the visual elements for continuity and style.

Presented in front of dramatic glazing, the black marbling, mixed-tier-height and hexagonal shape of the cakes alluded to the bold structural features of the Orangery for an industrial feel. Completed with a cascade of feminine and soft sugar flower sprays, the finishing touches contrasted with the cake’s geometric contours for a high-fashion yet elegant take on a modern wedding cake.

Flowers

The florals echoed the fusion of old-world elegance and contemporary design that epitomises the venue and aesthetic. Fi from Corky & Prince combined luxurious scented roses ‘Koko Loco’ and ‘Emily Bronte’, pelargoniums and anthuriums with natural pampas and feathery platinum asparagus ferns to create soft, romantic designs for the tablescape and ceremony. The garden gathered style bridal bouquet was full of delicate roses, phlox and jasmine, finished with blush and nude silk ribbons.

Fashion

We wanted to create a modern bridal look imbued with understated glamour for an ‘effortlessly demure’ feel. The bridal gown was ‘Cherry’ from the Alon Livne collection, supplied by Morgan-Davies Bridal. Made from delicate silk and crepe, its off the shoulder straps, A-Symmetrical draping details at the skirt and sweep train alludes to a traditional romantic dress, while its high leg slit gives it a fashion-forward edge.

Chantelle, our hair and makeup specialist, designed an effortlessly chic bridal look with loose romantic curls and a stylish low ponytail that paired beautifully with the simplicity of the low-cut back of the gown.
