Nautical Notions - Coco Wedding Venues

The Coco Colour Palette is back after a little Easter and Bank Holiday sabbatical, it also rather kindly gave up it’s usual slot so that I could inform you lovely lot about a rather fancy addition to our wedding venue directory…

But today, we’re talking Coastal Cool.

For this palette I wanted a cool yet sophisticated take on the nautical theme with a bright pop of colour to accent the traditional hues.

Think bold blues in navy and dusky teals as an aqua nod, crisp whites in cotton and tulle and a pop of bright red for that kiss-me-quick spin…

I do love a bit of signage so I would absolutely go hell-for-leather on these beauties if you’re throwing a beach side party! Think driftwood arrows and simple blue calligraphy. Perfection.

Stripes are a must, from napkins, to tablecloths to the ribbon on the boys boutonnieres! A bouquet instantly looks seaside chic with billowing striped ribbons. Oh, and I adore these teeny tiny boats with their striped canvas sails as escort cards – don’t you…?

Have fun with your stationary suites, I’m still loving watercolour and it’s a great nod to your nautical notions. I love the one pictured below – a lovely mix of jaunty elegance!

The fashion shouldn’t be overboard (get it…?) so channel the Brighton crew and think skinny fit suits in navy for the true mod look. Girls, why not try a two-piece, I love the structured navy top and frou frou tulle skirt in a soft white on our cool Bride below, oh and shades – the perfect accessory.

Whilst red can be a little bit scary to some, I think it’s a fabulous bright to set against this palette, look for subtle touches – from your flowers, to the heels of your shoe, a slick of red lip or a painted nail, through to a deliciously tempting scarlet cocktail.
