Notes from the Bride-to-be

Jordanna:

The proposal… We’ve been together for 5 years and in that time we’ve both moved around lots! I’ve even worked abroad twice for 6 months at a time. But against all the odds we made it through stronger than ever. So we had decided it was time to finally be together and keep it that way, no more moving around.

Dan spontaneously booked a trip to Rome, I am a quarter Italian and Dan loves Roman history so it had been on the travel wish list for a while! On the first evening we went back to look at the Colosseum all lit up and we found a beautiful area of historical ruins that we could sneak into. No one was around, a man was playing the saxophone in the background and it was pretty picture perfect. Then, Dan got down on one knee… I of course said yes!

The Wedding Venue search… We wanted somewhere that looked beautiful, but had a family feel. We wanted everything to happen at the same venue so we can all stay in one place for the whole day. We didn’t have a strict list of what we wanted from a venue, it was more about how we wanted it to feel like as a venue. We ultimately wanted it to feel like ours, a place that we can put our touch on and people can have a really relaxed and fun day that they will remember.

The ‘One’… As soon as we arrived at Pendrell Hall we felt excited. The beautiful drive through the trees and the grand entrance, then when we opened the door and saw the amazing wood pillars and fire place we were sold! It felt a home (a huge, beautiful home).

First impressions count… The staff at Pendrell were so lovely and approachable, they made us feel like they wanted us to get married there and they would go out of their way to make everything we wanted possible. It’s beautifully decorated and well kept I could of literally just turned up and got married with no decoration or flowers and it would still look incredible!

Our day… We have decided to go for a country feel with pastel colours. We’re going to try and keep the decoration very simple as the venue is so beautiful on its own. We just want lots of drink, lots of food and lots of colour!

Our photographer… Charlotte is such a lovely, bubbly person and made us feel very relaxed, which is exactly how we wanted to feel. She completely gets what we want and we trust her completely. The engagement pictures were just a little taste for us of how it’s going to be on the day as neither of us are big photo people! But we couldn’t be happier, they are exactly what we wanted – natural and colourful.

Having this time with Charlotte and getting to know her a little more, has made us feel like she is really involved in our day, and I can’t wait to see how the wedding pictures turn out!
