Joanna & Robert’s Wick Farm Bath Wedding

Written by Emma Hla
Wick Farm is a medieval farm steeped in history (it was originally built for the monks at nearby Hinton Priory and dates from 1372!) and set in 37 acres of stunning countryside, complete with horses, sheep, chickens and even a duck pond.

Joanna & Robert chose this venue for it’s rustic simplicity and we can’t help but fall a little more in love with this spaces thanks to the beautiful images by Jennifer Jane Photography.

Notes from the Bride

Joanna says…

We chose Wick Farm as we were looking for a laid back barn wedding and loved the rustic aesthetic and relaxed atmosphere when we went to visit. It helped that the staff were absolutely charming from day one.

My wedding dress was from Rookery Bridal. It was a classic strapless dress with a big skirt which I fell in love with as soon as I tried it on. My bridesmaids wore dusky pink floaty dresses and the groom wore a sage tweed suit.

The décor and styling was very simple – lots of flowers and rustic log centre pieces which fitted in well with the venue. Our florist was Flowers of Bath. Ella was fantastic as I don’t know my flowers! I told her the colour scheme – dusky pink and lilac shades and sent in a few photos. She created beautiful bouquets for me and my bridesmaids. along with similar table centre pieces.

Strawberry Fields did our catering as part of the Wick Farm package. We chose a menu which consisted of a selection of cooked meats, potatoes and salad with profiteroles for dessert. Our cake was made by a local independent baker called BeeLicous Bakes. We has a four-tier naked cake decorated with fresh flowers.

Jennifer Jane was our photographer. We chose her because of her romantic and natural style of photography. We were particularly pleased with some of the photos she took of us in the evening when the sun was going down.

Best part of the day

The best part of the day was getting to marry the love of my life and being surrounded with friends and family.

From one bride to another…

Enjoy every minute! The day goes extremely quickly. Don’t forget to take a moment to yourself to appreciate one another and soak in your surroundings.
