Intimate Weddings in The Carriage House at Tissington Hall

Written by Emma Hla
It’s such a pleasure to introduce one of our newest arrivals – Tissington Hall.

Set in the heart of the Peak District, this beautiful venue strikes the perfect balance between historical grandeur and relaxed contemporary sophistication and on the day of your wedding, it is exclusively yours.

The venue can host both marquee weddings for up to 150 guests and small, intimate celebrations for up to 60 friends and family. It’s the latter option that we’re exploring today as we take you on a little tour of the stunning and newly renovated Carriage House – the perfect space for your micro wedding.

Notes from the Photographer + Venue

During the Covid-19 lockdown, Lady FitzHerbert took on a big challenge. Pivoting their wedding venue, the stunning Tissington Hall in Derbyshire, from a large wedding venue with a capacity of 150 people, to a venue which is now the perfect setting for a more intimate celebration with family and close friends, as times have drastically changed for our beloved industry.

I was extremely privileged to have been invited to be part of this shoot. Tissington is one of my favourite venues and it has such a wonderful creative team behind it.

We assembled a great team of experienced industry professionals who pulled out all the stops. The venue stylist and florist even dressed the space twice to demonstrate just how beautiful and versatile The Carriage House can be. The first set up was soft, romantic and reminiscent of a fairy tale and the second was a complete contrast. Simplistic with cool modern hues of grey and foliage.

Lady FizHerbert says…

The Carriage House has been simply styled to enhance its fine original features and high ceilings. Decorated in neutral tones, it gives you endless scope to work with your florist and photographer to create the special atmosphere you have always dreamed of for your wedding day.

With its restored clock tower and extensive views of the village of Tissington, estate parkland and gardens, it’s a truly magical location to celebrate your wedding. At the Carriage House you will be able to prepare for your day in our spacious bridal rooms that have been created on the top floor of the venue, giving you ample space to relax and be pampered with your bridesmaids and family.

The main dining hall with its restored full height windows and sliding stable door allowing views over the gardens, can easily seat up to 50 guests for your wedding breakfast. There is capacity for you to invite additional guests to join you later, having a spacious separate bar and dance floor which allows you to make full use of the Carriage House and celebrate with family and friends into the evening.

We’re delighted to share these stunning photographs with you, which show off just how amazing this new space is – We’re all very excited at Tissington for the next chapter in our wedding venue journey.
