Grey Haze

Written by Emma Hla
For today’s Coco Colour Palette edit we’re going grey…

Grey is a bit of a favourite colour of mine, ummmm… you may have noticed the Coco branding! However for those of you following me on Instagram you will also have noticed the grey trend creeping into my home style. Yep, I’m a bit obsessed.

For me, grey has many different faces – from the pretty and ethereal barely there soft oyster, to the strong, earthy, masculine charcoal hues.

Grey made a very early appearance in my own wedding planning… Just two weeks before the boy popped the question I had pinned my first wedding related image.

That first pin was this creation by Vera Wang.

The Harlow – a soft tulle dress in the smokiest shade of grey – I was smitten.

The rebel inside of me so didn’t want to conform to the typical Bridal look, and part of that rebellion was a desire to have this grey wedding dress… In darker moments I was also toying with the blackened Wang numbers. Divine.

However, when the boy did pop the question and the real wedding planning began we went in a completely different direction and so my grey dress dreams faded into the distance…

But today, I thought I’d relive those first moments and share my silvery fancies… The Coco Style I’ve chosen for this palette is Rustic Romance, the perfect partner.

Ready for some Grey Haze inspiration…?

Imagine your girls in billowing silver chiffon dresses, accessorised with simple florals in the creamiest of whites. For a touch of drama add Anemones with their pretty pale petals and deep inky cores. Pull your blooms together with tumbling silk ribbons, for the ultimate in luxe look no further than Frou Frou Chic.

Boys sporting dusky tweed and fern boutonnieres is the perfect rustic twist, continue the masculine touch through to the tablescapes with kraft paper menus and smoky linen napkins.

For Brides not quite brave enough for the earthy shade of Harlow, why not drape yourself in the palest ashen tones… Or for a nod to said theme look to your accessories – such as these mousy suede booties. Add a touch of delicacy with antique gems in silvery-grey or pretty pearls in oyster.

Lastly, ensure your decor carries subtle colour touches – from pretty peppery paper poms, to dramatic granite candles, through to dove striped straws for your signature cocktail…

So are you toying with shades of grey…?

Do you have dreams of your own non-traditional wedding dress…?

Or maybe you would like some help with a particular palette…?

I’d love to know…

Lots of love…
