Katy & Tim; An Engagement Shoot & A Venue Search
That’s what our lovely Katy & Tim did a few weeks back at their wedding venue of choice, the utterly delectable Millbridge Court. All captured by VLA Photography, Katy is here to talk us through their impending wedding day and their wedding venue search.
Katy:
The proposal… Tim proposed in the living room of our flat where we have lots of happy memories. I came home from work and he had tidied the flat (which certainly rung alarm bells!) and before I could guess anything he got down on one knee. Then as a surprise he had arranged for his family and my brother to meet us in our local pub to celebrate. It was a total surprise and the BEST day ever.
The Wedding Venue search… We really wanted somewhere big enough inside and out that we didn’t have to worry about the weather. We also wanted somewhere a bit different. We had never seen anywhere like Millbridge Court before, it’s really beautiful and all the interiors details are really amazing.
The ‘One’… We knew Millbridge Court was our wedding venue, it just ticked all our boxes (space, beautiful gardens, close to London, bedrooms onsite, outside ceremony space). Also to top it off the venue team and in-house caterers (Kalm Kitchen) are so lovely and professional so we were filled with confidence immediately, we just know we’re going to have a wonderful wedding there.
First impressions count… When we first went to visit Millbridge Court, it was still a building site as it’s only recently opened. But the power of digital allowed us to envisage what it would look like and it seemed to be a really special and well thought out project. So we signed up immediately!
Our day… It’s going to be a very relaxed day with nothing too match-y. We have seasonal pink and white flowers to go all around the venue. Our main focus was having lots of lovely food and drink as well as a really fun band (and a photobooth of course!) to make sure we all have a great day.
Our photographer… Jon from VLA was recommended through Millbridge Court who spoke really highly of him. As soon as we contacted him I could see why, as he was so helpful and enthusiastic from the word go. We first met him at the venue and he is a such a lovely guy, we saw some of his previous pictures and they were beautiful. The engagement shoot was on a beautiful day luckily, it was really fun, we’d never been professionally photographed before! Jon made us feel really relaxed and the photos were fantastic. We are so excited for him to capture the big day now…
Is it wrong that I’m a teensy-bit (read a lot) jealous that Katy will be walking down the aisle at the stunning Millbridge Court…? If you haven’t spotted this wedding venue in Surrey yet you simply have to take a peek! Huge congrats to the ever-so-gorgeous Katy & Tim and we wish you a truly magical day…
