Emmy London’s Flagship Boutique
I’m going to admit I’m a little late to the game with announcing this particular news but sharing is caring and share is exactly what I’m going to do.
When Emmy London opened their gorgeous new flagship boutique last November, I knew it was going to be beautiful. Located on the Fulham Road in the heart of Chelsea, their new space is bigger than ever before and boasts a dedicated ‘Couture Room’ where brides can book appointments with designer Emmy herself to create their very own couture shoes and accessories.
As well as having severe carpet envy, you’ll be wowed by the array of bridal shoes and accessories on offer. It’s a true treasure trove and I dare you not to get over excited. The boutique is luxurious, warm and inviting and once again I could have stayed in Emmy London heaven all day.
Where do I even start with Emmy London. This lady is all sorts of cool and if I’m completely honest I’ve had a bit of a style crush on her since I spent the day with her back in 2015. You can read that full interview right here as a good background on this epic design house.
But to summarise Emmy is a force to be reckoned with. Not only is she vibrant and passionate to be around but she really does love her job and shoes! She had 3 pairs for her own wedding day!
Emmy London started all because a friend couldn’t find her perfect wedding shoes… “Instead of having the dream day out trying on fabulous shoes we ended up in a bar drinking champagne thinking how terribly depressing the experience of bridal shoe shopping had been!” Emmy explains, “In the end my friend chose some luxe high-street sling-backs that matched her flowers and whilst lovely, they weren’t what she had set out to find…” The idea of compromising on any part of your bridal look just didn’t sit well with Emmy and she spotted the gap in the market.
Emmy and shoes go way back, as a little girl she would often put wooden building blocks in her socks to create instant high heels! But, it was working in Italy for luxury brands such as Bottega Veneta and Giorgio Armani where she really honed her craft for design and business. So with this background and her newly discovered interest in the wedding industry she decided to take the mighty leap into the world of start-ups and launched her very own label, Emmy London.
The opening of the new boutique falls in-line with the unveiling of the new bridal Spring / Summer ‘17 collection. Aptly titled the “Chelsea” collection, the latest range of bridal shoes and accessories incorporates botanical references inspired by London’s iconic Chelsea Flower show and the boutique’s new home.
Focusing on feminine and sexy silhouettes the collection includes a number of super high heels and modern designs. New for 2017 the collection incorporates a gold slash and twist construction, pioneering traditional hand craftsmanship with a modern edge. The introduction of Lipstick – a Scarlet suede – offers an injection of bold colour for fashion- forward brides-to-be.
In keeping with Emmy’s signature style, the collection presents the perfect balance of simple shapes combined with intricate detailing. This approach can be found throughout the collection encapsulating shoes, clutches, hair decorations and belts, creating a feminine, elegant and luxurious head-to-toe styling ethos that has an undeniably beautiful and quintessentially British style.
