Elope to Treseren for a Small Wedding With Style

Written by Emma Hla
It’s almost Valentines Day, so I think today’s topic is pretty perfect. What’s more romantic than a wedding for two!

Elopements make us a little weak at the knees – an intimate wedding or a small celebration with your closest people is just all kinds of romantic. We’ve been hailing the return of the small wedding in a big way since 2016 and as predicted the elopement is now a serious and modern option for couples.

A smaller wedding equals a smaller financial commitment and in these slightly uncertain times this can be attractive, but a micro wedding doesn’t need to scrimp on style! New venue, Treseren has all the credentials to ensure a seriously stylish affair.

A magical ‘homestead under the stars’, located in Poldark country, just 10 minutes from the spectacular north Cornish coast, Treseren sits in a secluded position in the midst of Trewithen countryside.

A brand new and beautifully elegant venue for intimate weddings up to 20 and gorgeous elopements just for 2, it sprawls across two-and-a-half acres of greenery, with winding paths leading to secret flower-filled gardens, south facing terraces and lawns with endless opportunities for relaxation and play.

At the heart of the setting is Shepherds House, a Georgian beauty with plenty of history and stunning architectural features. Following a period of sensitive renovation and restoration by Paul and Emma Caddis of Elemental Interiors, Treseren has already been used as a location in the fashion shoots of major brands.

With its understated contemporary interiors, this stylish country house is the perfect setting for an intimate wedding celebration. Light and spacious, the beautiful master bedroom is a romantic space to relax and get ready on your wedding day.

The stunning architectural arches frame the walk to your ceremony down the winding Georgian staircase with its soaring window.

Picture a candle-lit winter elopement in the Drawing Room, set against a palette of whites and greys with the wood burner warming the room and stunning Georgian windows and shutters overlooking the gardens. Throw open the French doors in the light and spacious Wedding Room in the summer, or wed al fresco on the terrace or lawns under a beautiful floral arch.

The Treseren vibe is relaxed and convivial. Hosts Emma and Paul have a background in five star hospitality, receiving National recognition for their previous venue, Treann; a boutique B&B in Padstow which was Sunday Times Top 10 Hotel listed and featured in the Michelin Guide.

Emma reflects: “When we ran our B&B we helped guests celebrate so many important occasions, from anniversaries to honeymoons and I even assisted one lovely guy co-ordinating a marriage proposal as we served breakfast to the balcony of his room. Happily she said yes and they returned the next year for their honeymoon!”

At Treseren, guests will of course be treated to delicious breakfasts and, in addition, wedding weekends commence with a fabulous welcome feast, with wines matched to the occasion, helping couples set the scene as they gather those they love and start making memories. Emma continues, “There’s an outdoor table tennis table, organic play area to keep any children in the party entertained and as the light fades, the fire pits are lit for toasting marshmallows and creating the most wonderful pre-wedding atmosphere”.

As a petite, intimate venue, Treseren is perfect for elopement weddings. Elopements just for two are made special with champagne on arrival and thoughtful touches – with the option to order breakfast in bed for those running away for time together. If couples prefer to elope with their nearest and dearest, Treseren offers the ideal setting to bring together a small party; with gorgeous bedrooms, fabulous breakfasts and the luxury of space to relax and enjoy a special celebration.

Emma says, We feel so pleased to be working with couples to create their dream wedding at Treseren. We want to help take away the stress – so we can arrange everything from witnesses to wine, working with wonderful local suppliers to organise a bespoke package tailored to a couple’s individual wishes”.

Whether youre a party of up to 20, or its just the two of you, same-sex marriages, blessings, vow renewals and more can all be hosted at Treseren. Your dogs and children are also invited to join you on your special day! For couples searching for something boutique and bespoke, Treseren is a truly beautiful bolthole for a small wedding with style. To find out more you can download Treseren’s wedding brochure here or visit their website at www.treseren.co.uk.
