Today the spotlight is on Amy from The Timeless Stylist, Amy wants to tell you all about what she offers her couples as well as give you an insight into her kind of weddings. There’s also a very lovely offer if you keep reading for the first five readers to book!

To accompany the words, we have a gorgeous styled shoot which took place at AREA, a fave London studio spot.

Notes from The Timeless Stylist

Amy says…

I believe that a wedding design should be loved as much as in 20 years’ time as it is today. And it is with this in mind that I created The Timeless Stylist. My style is soft, elegant and romantic – and this shows in all of my work. There is nothing I love more than to take an old, unloved, period piece of furniture or antique item and to repurpose it, combining it with classic styling, delicate touches – this creates an overall timeless look. My styling can be described as clean, gentle and subtle – I believe that less is more and you won’t find me crowding my tables with unnecessary details. If you take beautiful items placed perfectly, you need to let them speak for themselves.

I started The Timeless Stylist after having my son. I knew I couldn’t go back to my corporate role in London. I’ve always wanted to apply my creativity elsewhere but never thought it was possible, but after growing a human you know that anything is possible! I love what I do, I am a true romantic and to be working in this wonderful wedding industry is a dream come true. I am at my happiest chatting to brides and grooms to be or wonderful wedding suppliers that I have met.

About Me

When I am not working, my favourite place to be is on the beach on a quiet day. I also love to spend a lot of time in London, trying out new restaurants, Instagramming pretty spots and visiting my favourite shop – Anthropologie. For ‘me time’ my favourite thing to do is to have a coffee in a little independent coffee shop with a good book, or maybe a Prosecco or two! I love to potter around vintage shops and markets and love to wear vintage mixed with high street pieces – And Other Stories is a firm favourite and I end up wanting it all!

The starting point to all of my wedding designs is the couple. My couples are at the heart of it all, and I like to create a wedding that is perfect for their personalities and wowed by their guests. Detail is key and I take a long time ensuring that everything is just so. From ensuring there are no mixed metals to keeping the tones in line with each other, I am a big perfectionist and won’t stop until I get it right.

My favourite part is mood-boarding and I believe this is key to achieving an overall harmonious design that can be brought to life with careful planning and perfect styling. My next favourite part is the big day! I get butterflies as well, as I want everything to be just so for my couples and I lovingly make sure their venue is perfect for them and their guests.

My Services

I offer a range of services to suit your needs, starting with an inspiration session where I will lovingly create a ‘look-book’ for your big day. This basically comprises of a mood-board with details for each of the styling elements within your wedding design, and you take this away with a list of my recommended suppliers for each of those elements.

My absolute favourite package is when I get a lot more involved and work with you from the very beginning to design and style your dream day. We will have lots of meet-ups and continuous discussions, right up until the big day when I style your wedding venue full of my personally curated props, giving you the most beautiful wedding day beyond your wildest dreams.

I also love to produce editorial shoots and help brands and venues with their styling, as this can often be overlooked but with careful adjustments you can start reaching your dream brides.

Advice

  • When styling your wedding day my advice would be to really think of those must-haves and factor those in first.
  • My key piece of advice would be to invest in flowers, as they can make or break a good wedding design and they play heavily in my styling.
  • Lastly think about the little things you can upgrade that will make a huge impact – for example gold cutlery, stunning calligraphy menus, an upgrade of chair to the standard supplied. These will all have an overall huge effect with how your wedding day looks, and these are all elements that I consider within my wedding design and styling.
