Notes from Enchanting Cakes
Ramla:
I started my journey into the wedding cake business just over 3 years ago having left behind a career in dentistry. I always had a passion for baking and art from a young age but decided to pursue a more practical career before my creative side took over again! In 2013 I decided to take the plunge and make it a full time business. The more artistic and creative nature of the job suited me much better and I very quickly ventured into the world of wedding cakes.
I was drawn to the opulent statement style wedding cakes and started designing my first collection. I love working with brides and bringing their ideas to life, from the very first consultation I spend time with the couple to understand their vision of their big day and design something truly unique for them. I love how no two cakes are ever the same. The bespoke nature of the design process means every cake is unique to the couple and even when choosing a classic design there is always some personalisation for the couple.

Our Brand
We offer a wide range of wedding cakes and dessert table options including an extensive flavour list with the popular classics but also some unique options such as masala chai and mango & passionfruit. Our award-winning designs are elegant, feminine styles with a touch of luxury and opulence. Our most popular designs are heavily influenced by florals and touches of gold.
Our latest collection – the Fairytale Collection, is based on 4 popular fairytales drawing inspiration from the stories and translating them into elegant designs with a subtle nod to the origin. The Jasmine Collection features deep berry colours and exotic flowers with gold lustre and sequins whereas cool grey tones and icy influences in the Freya Collection, which is based on the Snow Queen, make this perfect for a winter wedding.
From the initial design consultation to the delivery of the wedding cake, we want our clients to feel that they are closely involved in the whole process and that their wedding cake is a perfect centrepiece for their big day. We also want our clients to have a stress-free experience so we will liaise closely with other suppliers such as the florist and the venue to ensure that the delivery and set up of the wedding cake goes smoothly and everything looks perfect on the day.
Our prices start from £500 for a 3-tier cake, and more details are available on our website. Clients are invited to book a consultation where we can talk through design options whilst trying some of our popular flavours.

Top Tips for Choosing your Wedding Cake
Take into account the surroundings – a grand opulent venue can really dwarf a cake so make sure the size and style of the cake matches the surroundings. Also take in to account the placement of the cake table. It’s disheartening to see a beautiful show stopping cake placed in a dark corner of the room where it won’t be seen by anyone or has a terrible backdrop for the photos.
Use your wedding as inspiration for the design – It may sound obvious or simple but using elements from the rest of your wedding will help to tie in the style otherwise the cake may look out of place. Be sure to share the venue, décor, floral and centrepiece designs with your cake maker along with any other inspiration and trust them to make a design which will compliment your whole wedding.
And finally keep an open mind and try new things – You may be set in your ideas but I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve had clients come in for tastings adamant they want a particular flavour and by the end completely changing their minds as they preferred something else! You may be surprised when you look through a designer’s portfolio and start talking through some ideas to find that concepts you hadn’t even imagined are a possibility.
