This couple have sartorial elegance in abundance, from a Valentino Bridal shoe to the Groom in his Hugo Boss velour smoking jacket and bow tie. The flower girls are adorned with floral halos and customised Converse and, there’s a rather gorgeous little man who totally steals the show in his own little tux.
Kirsty & Richard married at the classically elegant Denton Hall in Yorkshire and their big day is simply beautiful…
Kirsty:
As soon as we walked into Denton Hall we knew it was the one for us. We got such a good feeling from the venue and all the people we dealt with. Michelle from Box Tree Events and Hannah from Denton Hall worked together to ensure we had the ‘perfect day’. I literally didn’t worry about a thing on the day, everything really was perfect. The venue was ours for the whole weekend which we loved, it was totally private.
We held our reception at Denton Hall as I wanted to marry in the church my parents were married in and where I was Christened.
The search for my dress was a long process. It took me a while to find ‘the one’ but luckily I had my Mum and Grandma there for their (honest) opinions! After the first shop visit all I knew was that I didn’t like big, or ruffles or strapless. Finding something which fit the bill took time, but I got there eventually and absolutely fell in love with my dress as soon as I saw it. I loved the lace, loved how fitted it was and it went perfectly with my overall theme of the day.
I styled my dress with a pair of Valentino Rockstuds which I searched all over London for. I knew they were the ones and I just had to have them. My veil was simple (no sparkles) and edged perfectly with lace. For the evening I had a bespoke headpiece to wear along with a matching cuff made by Victoria Walker of Victoria Walker Boutique. My hair was styled by one of my amazing friends, Rachel Tobin. She knew exactly what I wanted and made me feel so at ease on the day. My make up was done by the fabulous Joanna Worthington using NARS products.
Richards outfit was from Hugo Boss. His velour jacket and bow tie made sure he stood out from the Groomsmen who were rather dapper in Next Tuxedos. My stepson Ollie played a huge part in our day and also looked supercute in his tux!
My Bridesmaids looked amazing in Navy silk and Lace dresses from Coast, accessorised with bespoke hair slides also from Victoria Walker Boutique and a modern braided hairstyle. My flower girls looked beautiful in princess dresses and bespoke converse trainers.
My flowers were a huge part of the décor for me. The venue was styled simply but elegantly. Using neutral colours so not to detract from the amazing décor within Denton Hall. I went for a combination of Peonies, Roses and Hydrangeas mixed with Ivy, Tree Fern and Blossom. We were so lucky that we knew our florists from The Mulberry Tree personally, they knew exactly what we wanted.
Our cake was from Poppy Pickering of Ilkley. Dominique made the perfect cake which fit our theme perfectly. Such an amazing and classic cake.
I hand made a lot of the décor, frames, table plan, table names as I wanted to keep it as personal and unique as possible. I also made our favours, we donated to two charities which are close to us.
In the evening we had a dessert table and mojito bar for our evening guests to enjoy!
Best part of the day was walking down the aisle and seeing each other for the first time, we were both so excited that our day was finally here and after all the planning we could enjoy it!
Words of wedded wisdom…
My biggest advice for the day, really focus on your venue choice. We were so relaxed on the day as we knew Michelle and Hannah had it all in hand. It meant we could really enjoy things. Our guests are still commenting on the service (and mainly the food provided by Box Tree Events) now!

I adore Kirsty’s advice – “focus on your venue choice” – I couldn’t agree more folks!
Thank you so much to this beautiful couple for sharing their day and of course Contempo Photography for capturing it so perfectly…
Lots of love…
